Our Netbook broke, and I'm trying to decide if we should get another one or an Ipad. One thing I like about the Netbook is having another computer to print off coupons, which require the software to be loaded on it. Can you do that with an Ipad?

Thanks!

If you can, I would like to know too:teacher: I have not figured it out.:)

I print from my iPad to my wireless printer. Some things work, some things won't. Most notably some postage labels which use Flash.
I hope someone comes along with more info.

I know it can be done. I have no experience with it myself. If i wasn't so cheap I would give it a shot myself. I only know because a friend of mine has a "wireless" printer and they said they were printing from iPhone and iPad both.

I don't think anything that requires Flash would print because the iPad would not load it in the first place.

It depends on the coupon site. I am able to print things from my ipad. But Target coupons are not printable. When you try to print, Target recognizes that it is a mobile device, and asks you to print from a regular computer.

Btw, Hulu recognizes the iPad as a mobile device, and cannot stream videos unless you have Hulu plus. Not that you asked, just proof that the iPad is read more like a smartphone than a netbook.

There is a smart source app made just for the iPad. It downloads those coupon magazines that you get in the Sunday paper. You click a coupon and it is saved on your shopper card (Kroger, Safeway, etc.)

You need an HP Wireless printer to print directly from the iPad/iPhone.

You don't have to have a wireless printer. Bluetooth will connect your printer and iPad.

I got a bluetooth dongle, plugged it in my printer and made it bluetooth compatible.

If you download the Puffin app, you can open sites that use Flash.

When specifically printing coupons using the coupons.com app, I am only able to print to an HP Wireless Printer. While there are other methods to printing with an iPad the OP is specifically asking about printing of coupons. The app actually specifies that you must have an HP printer connected to your network.

I wish that I was able to print via IP address because I have a network printer in use at my home.

Apple and adobe, which owns flash, dont have a contract with each other so nothing that requires flash will open on the iPad, unless you use an used app to circumvent it.

It's not that's it is read more like a smartphone than a netbook. With regards to Hulu, they purposely did that; they could have chosen to allow the basic Hulu to work but since they are in the business of generating revenue they chose otherwise.

This. The HP wireless printers are those that have AirPrint enabled; however your wireless printer does not need AirPrint to print from the iPad.

You are on point with regards to coupons.com specifically :)

Cool, thank you! I guess now I just need to wait for some more refurbished Ipads to become available!
