Can you pre pay gratuities on the website?

I wan to pre pay my gratuities and I've been trying to do it via the app, but it keeps coming up with an error and suggesting I try again later. I thought I'd try and do it via the website, because some times that seems to fix problems, but for the life of me I can't find the option to add it on the website 🤣

Any suggestions? I really can't be bothered calling, but I'd also like to have them prepaid

What you want to do is purchase Onboard Credit. Gratuities are taken from your onboard account.

I had that same issue with a March sailing on the Treasure; I eventually just called :-/

I bet chat would do the job as well, though, and then you don't have to speak with someone; I'm not a phone guy either :-)

Thanks. I booked through the site, but it's just not giving me the option of adding them 🤷‍♀️ I'm not cruising until November 17th, so there's still time.

I have a good record with calling. If they say the wait is more than 5 minutes, I hang up and come back later. The end of their working day is often easy to get through

But I am calling from the US. And, somehow I thought you are from elsewhere - now I see that’s so.

I’d go with the Online Gift option if it’s not showing for you on your reservation. I routinely gift myself Stateroom Credit to cover expected charges. And I don’t pre-pay gratuities. That way DCL is not holding my money for extra time. It can be done up to 3 days before sail date.

Find it under Already Booked > Onboard Gifts > Onboard Credit. It will ask for your Reservation Number or lookup by guest name and sail date.

I wonder if this is a snafu after tipping was an issue on Australian cruises. Are you on a US or Australian DCL website?

TBH, Disney is one of the few places I can call and get consistently good customer service anymore.

On the Dream recently DCL pre paid them and billed us and gave us the out option.
Not too cool a stunt, but this trip our crew was really good.

Did they pre-pay them (charge your credit card before boarding) or just do a daily charge throughout the cruise? I know it’s semantics, but I’m curious if they did it pre-cruise, without your consent.

They are going to count on people leaving the daily charge on their folio.

Everyone gets a print out with names of workers and the suggested/ charged amount. And envelopes for the slips or extra money.
