We're going to WDW in December. To save money, and to try to keep me 'on track'- I'm thinking that we only eat 1 TS, and maybe a snack in the parks, and bring everything else from home. NOW- we're flying and using DME (no car to take us to Walmart or Publix , and no fridge in the room) so everything I want to take will have to come with me in the suitcase or in the carryon. Any suggestions of what to bring? This is what I'm thinking--

-Reduced calorie bread, 2 slices per zip top bag (pre-packed so I'm not bringing a whole loaf of bread )
-Peanut Butter
-Grapes/Apples
-Pre-measured Fiber One Cereal
-Fiber One breakfast bars
-Almond Milk
-Pre-measured quaker oatmeal (with cinnomen added)
-Pre-popped 94% fat free popcorn
-Bottles of water

Probably going to bring a small suitcase JUST for food- packed in plastic bags to prevent as much squishing as possible....

We're only going to be there 3 full days, and 2 half days (travel days)

Anything else I should take that I'm forgetting? It looks like we're good for breakfast, but lunches are looking kinda....dull.... I'm VERY open to suggestions!!

I like to take Almonds and the prunes that are packed in single servings (I only bought them for bringing to Disney because it's such a waste to have anything packed in single servings). Just a question, won't pre-popped popcorn take up a lot of room in a suitcase? If you are staying on-site, the food courts have microwaves and you if bought the packets of microwave popcorn, you could go there and pop it after you get to your resort. It's not quite as healthy as air popped, but maybe more space saving in the luggage.

Just another suggestion - Maybe just take one bottle of water per person and then re-fill them at the parks. There are drinking fountains at all the parks or you can ask for free glassses of ice water at any counter service food spot. If you don't like the taste of the water, you could pack some little packets of single serving drink mixes (again - I did this just for our Disney trip. I like the Lipton Diet Raspberry Green Tea flavor) They take up very little room in the suitcase and their is such a great variety of flavors and brands out there.

The price you are going to pay for your extra suitcase to bring on that food would be better spent paying gardengrocer.com to deliver these things. That way you are guaranteed that they aren't crushed or spoiled by the time you get there (personally wouldn't want to eat grapes that have been sitting in a packed suitcase for hours upon hours).

If you do want to bring food from home, can I suggest at least having the water delivered? Bottles of water will definately put you over your weight limit in a suitcase. Costco.com delivers water to your resort for $7/case (that's the total cost).

Also, if you plan to eat any table services, make sure that you do the math and figure out your 180th day and call to make your reservations.

you may have a smooshed mess on your hands - grapes could squish, water could break open, etc.....also, you will quickly be to your 50lb limit in your suitcase with water and peanut butter - if you were driving, this is a golden plan but not sure about on a plane -- when we flew a few years ago, we brought lots of poptarts and granola/cereal bars - breakfast was the toughest for us -
hope you have a great time!!!

I would definitely use gardengrocer. It will make packing much easier and all of your food will be fresh.

Agree with PPs, Gardengrocer is great. However, if you decide to pack food I would suggest getting a couple plastic shoe storage boxes. Put your bread and fruit in those (inside the suitcase), it will keep them from getting beat around in transit.

I agree with the PPs. Order food and have it delivered. Also, have you looked into any fridge swaps? There are many out there that are now free and have dates available. If not a fridge at least a collapsible cooler packed in your luggage can help.

You can also ship a box to yourself! That is what I did! I sent a toaster, bagels, pbnj, and I think crackers or something else. I think it cost me about $8 to ship it priority.

Check on the fridge swaps, where are you staying and what are your dates?
