Hi, I'm going with my kids on our 1st disney cruise in DEc. :Pinkbounc

Is it safe to leave the camera equipment in the room (cameras, camcorders) when we will not use them?. What if you bring them to the pool. Has anyone heard of this stuff being taken? What about other important papers, passports, tickets etc. Do they have safes in the room to put Credit cards or cash. Thanks.
Valerie

There is a safe in the room that your kttw card locks and unlocks. It'll fit passports, wallets, etc.

I left my digital camera in the room and in a bag by the pool many times without a problem. That said, I wouldn't leave it out on a table for all to see. No sense tempting fate ;)

Safes are provided in each room. Will hold money, passports, tickets and perhaps a small camera. I leave my camera/video cam out. Never had a problem. As for bringing camera to pool usually one of us is with our stuff. Haven't ever heard of anything being stolen by pool. HTH

The rooms do have a small safe to keep important papers, jewlery, cash and small items in. You use your KTTW card to lack and unlock the safe. As far as cameras, we left them in our room with no problems. When we were by the pools we did leave our things by our chairs, but kept an eye on them. I was not too worried about something getting taken, but I'm sure it may happen.

We left our camera out as well as a little bit of money. There are safes in your room. I locked up my documents. There is only one other person that has access to your room besides you and your family and that is your stateroom person. I had no problems and felt very safe.

I always lock up anything of value in the safe when we leave the room including cameras, $$, documents, etc.

When we go to the pool I just put my camera under a towel or in my bag & keep an eye on it as best I can.

We've never had a problem.

I put everything that will fit, in the safe. For bigger things, like a camcorder, I always felt better locking it in my suitcase, which was in the closet. Better safe than sorry, I always say.

We left camcorder and cameras out in our room frequently. We never thought twice about it. We also left our roomservice tip money out. Not a dollar was missing.

I recently read a thread that talked about cameras and camcorders being stolen on CC. I find this shocking, but I guess I like to look at the world through rose colored glasses.

P.S. Shame on you thieves!

We've never had a problem with cameras being left out in the room. My DD has forgotten to put her jewelry back in the safe and it wasn't touched.

I've also seen stories regarding the theft of items on Castaway Cay. It's unfortunate, but it happens.

I'm most cautious when we go to the ports. It's easy to forget that you're not in the safety of the ship anymore and be careless with your bags.

We would leave ours in our cabin and had no problems. I usually put it up in the cabinet above the desk though and back as far as it would go (I'd take the camcorder out of the bag).
