Can you hop w/an AP?

I want to upgrade to an AP (from a 5 day hopper) the first day of our trip in Nov but all of our plans involve hopping. Will I not be able to do that? I'm ok w not hopping for the next trip but we are all over the map w FPs and ADRs this time. Stress!
