Can you have too much fruit?

I was just wondering because since I can't really have much else.. I eat a LOT of fruit, my mom brings me home these containers of watermelon and what they call Bermuda fruit salad (orange, mango, pineapple, kiwi, strawberries) I've only had the Bermuda one twice but I can't stop eating watermelon.

I don't know what I would do if I had to give up the fruit. I think I would no longer have fingers.

Fruit is generally very good for you. Just remember that it does have a lot of sugar (natural, of course) and since most are also primarily water, too much can have a laxative effect. They will definately keep you regular because of the fiber anyway. I say enjoy your fruit, but in moderation. :D
 
Since I count carbohydrates instead of calories my fruit consumption is slightly limited. Watermelon is very high in carbohydrates and I love it so. I'll just have to train my self to not eat so much of it anymore.

Fruit is like any other food, moderation is the key.
 
There are people who eat nothing but raw fruits....fruitarians. Its a lifestyle I've considered. I love fruit too! But my personal metabolism doesn't seem to be able to handle that much sugar (natural or otherwise....) so I don't know that it would be a good choice for me.

If you aren't doing a low carb thing, I'd say have as much fruit as you like. Do watch out for the effects it can have on your digestion.....I think some people are more sensitive than others to it.
 

I seem to still lose weight while eating fruit and I've never limited myself on how much of it I could have. Even when I first started my diet they said.. Eat only two oranges. I ate like.. Five. And lost 8 pounds.

I sometimes eat a container thing of watermelon a day. But grapes.. Those I eat a LOT of. Oh well. On the website it says to eat as much as you want and I like fruit!

I do try to limit my carb intake with breads, etc.
 
Me too. I eat lots of fruit, and restrict my carbs otherwise.
 
I would say enjoy as much as you want, as long as you include some proteins and veggies in your daily diet as well.:)
 
Phew. That makes me happy. I do have protein and veggies in my diet. :) And I did moderate my fruit intake yesterday. I'll try to take it easy on it, but I love fruit!
