Am I crazy or does anyone else remember there being a person in the recording studio with Aerosmith before you go on RnR? This person interacted with the video by getting the guitar for a member of the band. Then, we noticed the guy was missing...then, on our last trip we noticed a guy who appeared on the screen who got the guitar for the band member. Did they actually edit the guy in because we don't seem to remember him being there before?

No, you're not crazy.

There used to be a guy walk into the studio and grab the guitar.

Yep - we noticed the same thing! Welcome to the hard times for Disney, circa early 2000's.

I think they did edit the guy in for today's showings, as I remember the poor guy that about every 3 minutes had to go into the studio for the guitar. You know he got tired of that! :rotfl:

I thought so. What about the guy appearing in the screen who turns to Joe Perry and says he will get the guitar, is that new or was that there all along? It seems like such a strange thing to have a guy just sitting there all day pretending to grab a guitar.

They had a guy (actually a girl) there when we went in April '05.

LOL...actually, when you work an attraction, you rotate through the positions, so nobody is doing any one thing all day. For example one may spend time as greeter, then move on to the merge-point of standby and Fast Pass lines, then later go into the building to do the spiel at the podium just before the preshow room, etc.

At Safaris we each rotate through one position that's not on a truck each day. One day it might be Greeter, the next may be at stroller parking, another at the Fast Pass machines or loading/unloading docks, etc. We are all trained to do everything.

I never got to stand by the poacher's Jeep and Wilson's plane, though. That position was done away with before I started.

Thanks for posting, Pandy! I've always wondered how the CM's divide up the responsibilities at the attractions! :flower:

It was written with a non-gender specific name "Chris"? so that either a guy or gal can fit the part.

..................er.................... I bet that dude looked like a lady
:earseek:

and they went to TOT for love in an elevator... :rotfl2:

What an amazing memory everyone has. I thought I was going crazy with that missing/appearing CM. I was almost cryin in the 2000 time period when all of those little special things with the CMs in the show disappeared.

p.s. it's your fault jlb21 you made me almost spit my tea on my computer screen I laughed so hard

LOL! I cannot tell you the sweet emotion I have when I read a thread like this. In fact, I may just ask you to walk this way and just try and make me laugh harder than I am right now.

Mods, we really ought to now merge this thread with the "you know you're a Disney Addict" thread.

Ok, trying to take this to a whole new level.......

Look closely.....do you see the hidden mickey?

Ok, maybe there isn't one, but I just couldn't resist the opportunity since I am so pumped about my upcoming DIS vacation.

I think when I went on it once, I heard the CM yell, "Got it Joe!" after being asked to grab the Les Paul.

I thought that was cool.

so what happened with the guy in the video...was he always there or is he edited in. if disney thinks they can make these changes without us noticing they can dream on .

I remember that too. I think it's hit or miss. A college buddy of mine works at the R&R (has for a couple years) and I've seen him in the 'recording studio' winding up cables and such when Joe asks him to grab the Les Paul. I've seen other CMs too. Now not so much. Hmm... I have heard the WDW is understaffed though, is that true?

Yes they are currently having a staffing shortage. This has led them to offer a $50 bonus to every CM that recommends someone that gets hired. They have also begun hiring 15 year olds (but only if they have a parent/grandparent who is already a CM) and have been trying to hire people further away such as Polk County. In the past few months they have held two job fairs each hoping to hire 3,000 new CM. In a few weeks they will be holding another job fair in Polk county hoping to hire an additional 4,000 CM.
