Hi, we're staying at the Poly 12/10 - 12/14 & wanted to visit Fort Wilderness Buffeteria restaurant. Is there boat transportation directly to it ? Or what method does anyone recommend to get there ? Thanks ! :bounce:

In years past there was a boat that went directly from the Polynesian to FW but alas no more.

Still easy to get to though. The fastest would be to walk over to the TTC and hop a bus to WL/FW.

More fun I think is to take a launch, ferry or monrail to the MK and then hop a boat to FW.

Trail's End is a very short walk from the boat dock as well as the bus stop at FW.

You can also take the monorail to the Contemporary and then take the boat from there.

If it were me and I wasn't pressed for time, I'd take the boat launch from the dock of the Poly to MK and then get take another boat to FW. The resort's monorail to the Contemporary (via GF and MK) is not considerably faster. You can also take the short walk to the TTC from the east side of the Poly (just past the Tahiti building) and make connections from there.

Edit: DW confirms what BCV23 said: I had the order of the boat launch and the resort monorail exactly backwards. Fixed. :o

Hmmm...I don't think that the monorail to the CR would be fastest. It stops at the GF and then MK before the CR. Then you still must wait for the boat. I would get off at the MK and catch a boat rather than wait for the next stop.

The ferry to the MK is very fast but can be crowded depending on the time of day. You catch it at the TTC which is easy to get to...right past Rapa Nui at the Eastern end of the Polynesian.

We think the launch is the most fun as Grumpy said and it is direct to the MK from the Polynesian (stops at the GF before the Polynesian). Then you catch the FW boat.

But as I said I do think the short walk to the TTC and the bus is fastest...just not as fun.

All this highlights the many transportation options from the Polynesian.

Hey, you could also walk to the TTC, take the monorail to Epcot and hop a FW bus. Or take the monorail to the GF, take the launch to the MK via the Polynesian and take the boat to FW.:D Just kidding. But all the transportation options from the Polynesian is one of the many reasons we've stayed there so many times.
