We are going to do 'drink around the world' just wondering, at places like the rose and crown pub or the ditch, if you can have these drinks in plastic cups so we can walk and drink? Just curious thanks

You can't get alcoholic drinks "to go" from the restaurants, but there are numerous outside kiosks throughout the world showcase where they sell drinks specific to that country / region, and you can carry these drinks throughout both worlds of Epcot, but not on the attractions.

You can get the margaritas to go at the Tequila cave in Mexico Pavillion!

yes of course you can. You sort of have to be able to get a go-cup at rose and crown because they don't have guinness on tap outside for example.

Now, ymmv on this, but more than once I've gotten a unibrou to go from la cellier because I had a craving and didn't have a reservation to eat there. Years ago they used to have some in the stand out there, but since they stopped several years ago I'd just go in and ask politely. Be nice, considerate, respect it if they have a crazy crowd, and tip like somebody is doing you a favor. I think people are more likely to get a go-cup from a restaurant after they ate. La cellier is a problem because it is popular and gets busy, especially with the dining plan. Rose and crown pub, on the other hand, expects people to routinely order go-cups.

Just about every World Showcase pavilion has various kiosks and stands selling alcoholic beverages appropriate to the country. That's probably easier than taking out from the table service restaurants, even if they allow it.

Jared, that depends on what you want to drink in that country.

Let's see, beer right now, starting at international showcase turning right-

France. No good beer really. Bottled La Belle at stand. Wine by the glass in the bakery, and at stands. No reason to go to restaurant for beer they don't have anything else iirc.

Morocco. No good beer really. Bottled casablanca at stand. Mixed drinks at stand and at counter service restaurant, no need to go to mirrakesh restaurant.

Japan. Kirin Ichiban on tap in Tokyo dining is probably the most drinkable beer here. They have a full menu of drinks, some available at stand.

America. No good beer, really, sam adams at stand and at fast food. No sit down restaurant anyway.

During the food and wine festival, sam adams has a stand here that has a lot of their beer.

Italy, no good beer, wine readily available at outside stands along with whatever italian lager the distributors are pushing (Peroni?)

Germany. Germany is probably the only country where the beer choices have gotten better in the past 10 years or so. Three places to get beer here at outside stands - franziskaner at pretzel kart out front. Beer stand on the side with becks (? not trusting memory there). Spatinator and franziskaner at bratstand inside to the right of summerfest buffet. I want to say there is an octoberfest type of beer there, but that may be seasonal, maybe a food and wine festival thing, I haven't noticed. No reason to go to the buffet for a go-cup, but if you eat lunch there, it would be about time for lunch now, they have liter glasses in there.

The outpost has sam adams seasonal at the counter service.

China. Not much beer choices. they have tsingtao at the counter service, some drinks and wine also.

Norway. I still miss the ringness. they have carlsburg at the stand outside, some drinks and beer to go at the bakery also.

Mexico. The frozen margaritas at the stand aren't that good, imho. They have XX at the fast food place and temporary stand on tap. They have the tequila bar inside.

Canada. The only beer they have outside is moosehead lager and light on tap. Got to go to la cellier for the less skunky tasting beer. Probably the best beer available at epcot is the unibrou beers in la cellier, but here's the thing. If you've been going drinking around the world to this point you'll be perfectly happy with the moosehead and should stick with that instead of trying to go in and eat at the restaurant.

UK. They have bass on tap outside. Go inside for the guinness (it is too expensive at 8.50 a pint, so 10 bucks with tip, but so quinching on a hot day, and 10 bucks for a pint of guinness is better than 8 bucks for a pint of wife beater). Also boddington's and of course mixed drinks and ciders inside. I don't know why half the beer in the UK pub is from Ireland or Belgium, but wth.

The last couple of years there has also been another stand with some inbev beers (hoegarrden, etc.) during food and wine festival.

In future world, the ice cream stand behind character connection/innoventions, on the way to the land/nemo has sam adams seasonal on tap; there is stand on the other side towards test track with yeungling I think on tap.

I agree with the previous poster. Nothing exciting on tap. I'd really like to see some unusual selections on tap in each country. I don't care for bottled beer. Why not feature some great microbrews from each country.

those two places were the only ones i was really curious about. The other countries I'll be getting drinks at the kiosks. But thanks! appreciate such thorough answers :)

I got a Welsh Dragon at the Rose & Crown Pub and it came in a plastic 'glass'. We did not request that. BTW, the drink was yummy.

When you order at the R&C pub, all you have to do is say you want it to go and they'll put it in plastic. The pub is separate from the restaurant, you don't have to go into the restaurant to order a beer.

Same thing with the tequila bar in Mexico.

We got some at a Margarita stand in Mexico. DH got XX beer, which he really likes, and I got a margarita that was a combination of Lime, Strawberry, and Mango.

Also, we got wine to go at the German wine store. It wasn't the flight, it was 4 oz servings.

I know you're asking about Epcot here, but in AK I was able to walk up to the bar at Yak & Yeti and buy a Yak Attack in a plastic cup to go. It can't hurt to ask if there is a specialty drink you'd like to have.

I know this doesn't answer your questions -- but I just wanted to add that last summer we went to check out Paradisio 37 -- so we stopped in for a drink at the bar. The bartender asked if we wanted them 'for here or to go' :) :thumbsup2

I enjoyed getting a "glass" of Champagne in the France pavillion and walking around the countries.

The above posters who mention Yak & Yeti and Paradiso 37 are talking about restaurants with their own separate bar areas - in the WS the only restaurants with their own bar areas are Rose & Crown and San Angel Inn. At all the others you'd have to go to the podium and ask if you can have a drink to go - and as mentioned with Le Cellier they might let you, and they might not.
