can you double book?

This is not true. No computer automatically deletes your ADR's. That can only be done by a CM. Now, if you are booking an ADR & the CM has your current ADR's open & notices a double booking you will be asked which one you want to keep and the other will be canceled. That is "if" that CM opens your other ADR's. It's not automatic.

Now with that being said, as a Disney Dining CM I can tell you how heart sick some guests are to not be able to secure an ADR at certain locations they had wanted. Just think if your double booking caused them to miss the ADR their child was dying for, for example. It's really not fair. Can it be done? Absolutely! Are the double booking easy to do? You bet, but I would hope that anyone considering it would think of others before doing so.

Thank you!! Last year when we made are ADRs for Free Dining, I couldn't believe all the trouble and shuffling around of reservations I had to do! We couldn't get some of the restaurants that we wanted and many times were really off dinner times. Then I joined these boards and heard of all the double bookings out there. It really bothered me and I actually took up at least 2 or 3 CMs time trying to just get one each day!! Everyone really should just have one out there per day for reservations that they are going to keep.

Jellybeans is correct (from my recent experience). I had booked the majority of my ADR's on June 9th and called yesterday to book a CP dining pkg. I used my work number on the CP pkg and was just satisfied making the CP arrangement yesterday and didn't want to spend the time to cancel the other one yesterday. So, I called back today to check on my overall reservations and even though I used my disney reservation id when prompted on the phone, they could only look up my ressies on a phone number. I gave them my home phone # (I never remember what phone # I give when I fill out things!), anyway, the CR was able to read everything back from the June 9th call but did not see the CP pkg at all. I gave her my work # and she found the other one. I cancelled the original ADR but if you book things under 2 different phone #'s, I believe they would not find out. Why you would want to do that (other than in situations where you're waiting to book a pkg) I don't know nor would I want to justify doing it just for the sake of "keeping your options open". popcorn::

Your not supposed to double book. If disney catches it, they might call you and ask which you'd like to keep and which you'd like to remove.

Or...while making ADR's they might see it and ask what you want to keep.

The system does have its problems though and many people are able to double book and not get caught.

Many people are against this as you are keeping a family from having a table at a location that they may have really wanted. It's really not fair no matter how you look at it.

Double booking isn't that hard to do.. you simply make reservations under your cell phone number... then you let your wife makes reservations under her cell phone number... if that what you want to do... I don't really see it as that much of a problem since it doesn't keep anyone from the dinner, it just allows an additional stand by person to get in.
Not a personal attack-but thats rude-and its things like this that are making Disney a less happy place. Honestly-I think that is really selfish. Enjoy your trip and your food.
