Can you deactivate a ticket?

husband has a non-expiring park hopper with WPFM ticket with 6 or 7 days left on it. It is linked to him in MDE. We are now thinking a DVC Gold AP might be better this year.

Can I buy that for him and then deactivate the park hopper multi- day or will this be nothing but a headache?

Also, is one type of ticket better from a FP+ perspective? We have a 9 day on site stay and need to be able to book 9 days worth of FP+

I used the wrong term. Priority is fine as long as it doesn't pull from old non-expiring ticket while we're using the new AP

How would I ever know if there's an error though? You can't see how many days you have left on the hopper ticket?!
