Can you choose your guide if you purchase by resale?

We really like the guide who gave us a tour of BLT but we are negotiating a resale for AKV. His presentation went a long way in our decision to purchase because he was up front about many of the negatives that I've read about. It seems silly to ask the question but we enjoyed talking to him and now feel a bit loyal to him--of course, not loyal enough to buy direct! The reason that I'm asking is that the contract that we are negotiating is 50 points so we would be adding on sooner than later and would like to do so with that particular guide.

It should happen automatically. If he is your guide now, he should be after as well.

Sweetdana is correct.

If at any point you contacted DVC you were assigned a guide at that point. If you buy resale and that guide is still employed by DVC then you are assigned to them. If that guide is no longer there then you would be assigned to a random guide.

Members have the ability to change Guides. Just call (800) 800-9100 and ask to speak to a Manager. Explain that you would like a different Guide.

Disney wants you to be be comfortable with your Guide with the hopes of selling to you in the future.

Finding the right contract has taken a great deal of time so if we want to take a trip any time soon we'll need to add on and the quickest way is directly through DVC. We can also purchase exactly how many points we want rather than taking on a 50, 100, or 160 contract and perhaps ending up with too many that we have to worry about banking.
