Can you change rooms same resort?

Hi, I am sure this has been asked before but here goes: Can you book a studio for part of your home resort stay and a 1 bedroom for the remainder of the stay without penalty?? I am looking at possibilities for when we stay at our home resort (AKV) for thanksgiving 09. I am trying to see if we can get a little more time at AKV if we do this. I know booking a studio would really stretch the points but i really want to book the 1 bedroom for the majority of the trip! thanks for any input!!

Absolutely you can. When you book in December, just let the CM know which days you'd like a studio and which you'd like a 1-bedroom.

thanks for the response! I am looking at staying in the studio for the 1st night and then moving to the 1 bedroom for the rest of the stay. Would the desk hold your luggage until the 1 bedroom is ready? Do you have to re-checkin and is this a big deal to do? For instance, do you have to get all new room keys, etc?

Yes, bell services will hold your luggage and yes, you will have to check in again. It will be a separate reservation for a different room type. When you book you'll book the first night as one reservation in a studio and another reservation for the nights in a 1BR. It's no different than it would be if you were making a cash reservation for different room types. Since you'll have a new room you'll need new keys.

I did that in June. We made a reservation for AKL Conceirge 1 bedroom Friday to Tuesday. We later decided to go down on Thursday, we booked a studio for that night. On Friday morning, we took our luggage to the bell desk and then checked in for conceirge, got new keys. We used the lounge for breakfast. Our room was ready later in the day.

thanks so much for the info!! Our first trip will be to SSR in feb 09 but i am soo looking forward to staying at Kidani village!
