We are changing our vacation time. Originally we would have been there on my DD birthday now it will be 3 weeks earlier. Is it wrong to let her celebrate anyway? :confused3

No its not wrong. Lots of ppl cant go on their actual birthday but celevbrate one there.

Be sure to stop at City Hall in MK and at the International Gateway turnstiles at EPCOT (back side, going to BC/YC/BW areas and get birthday badges. They'll get your son lots of Happy Birthday wishes. :) We're usually at WDW in April during spring break, which is also the same month as DD8's birthday. She always celebrates her birthday during our visit, as does our older daughter if we happen to be there in June.

As long as your daughter understands, no problem. You wouldn't want people wishing her a happy birthday and then her saying "but today isn't my birthday"! So, if she is old enough to know when her actual birthday is, you might tell her something like "this is your Disney birthday". That way she doesn't get confused.

Like Alice In Wonderland it is your official un-birthday. sshhh no one has to know.

During our last trip, it was both DH & oldest DD's birthdays (on the same day), and again for the next trip, it will be both of their birthdays. My youngest daughter (6) understandably would like to celebrate her birthday in Disney World, but hers is in Sept.-about 2 weeks into the school year, so it's doubtful we'd ever go during her actual birthday. DH & I decided that she gets to pick a day (other than on their birthday :rotfl2: ) to claim as her Disney birthday! She's VERY excited! :cool1:

Is she old enough to know its not really her birthday? My brother turned 5 while my mom was in the hospital recouperating after I was born. They just did not mention to my brother that it was his birthday until after mom and I got home from the hospital. :rotfl2: This did not come out until years later and believe me, DB had not a clue. :upsidedow

Ds celebrated his for 3 days at Disney, no one cared and he loved all the attention it got him.

There is NOTHING wrong with celebrating a birthday early.

Do you always have a party on your kid's actual birthday? Probably not! If the party is NOT ON the actual day of the birthday, do you forbid people to wish them a Happy Birthday since "It is not their birthday"? God I hope people dont do that!

Go! Get your child a birthday pin! Plan a special meal as the "birthday dinner"! Tell the server it is their birthday dinner! Or a cake or something!

Have a GREAT time on your child's "birthday trip"!

We are having DD's 5th Disney birthday on the 21st, the day we leave. Her day is the 24th but we can't go that week so a little early can't hurt. ;) She understands that is her party (special meal) and her real day is once we get home.

Especially with DH's the 20th, she knows they have parties together every year.
