Can you carry fanny packs on the rides?

I've heard that bags (such as backpacks) need to be stored in lockers before some rides. But if you have a fanny pack, can you keep it on you?

I was thinking that it would be a lot more convenient if we didn't have to bother with lockers.

As long as it isn't humongous and interferes with the restraints, it is fine. I always wear one but mine is pretty flat against my body.

I have heard some people use them and are allowed and others have said they make them take them to lockers before they can ride .
I wear cargo pants with big pockets to put stuff in

I only use mine for suncream, so not overly stuffed and we have always been asked to remove them and put them in a locker if we kept them on.

We just do this automatically now as it saves us having to trawl back to the lockers.

I was thinking about this yesterday. I went on RnR at DHS and took my regular Adidas backpack on the ride with me.

How come Universal makes you put the stuff in lockers and Disney doesn't?

I wore my fanny pack (well it's more of a flat belt bag) on every ride for 5 days last June and no one ever said a word to me about taking it off. In fact, it was the second trip I wore it to Universal and I never had to take it off on the first trip either. The only rides I didn't do were Hulk and DD but my DH did both wearing his regular fanny pack.

Thanks, everyone!

I'm guessing a small flat fanny pack, plus Hawaiian shirt with tails out should just about do it. ;)

Room key card and wallet do fit in pockets, but I don't like having my camera and phone in a cargo pocket. I'll be happier if I can carry them at my waist.

My fanny pack is big enough for a couple of homeless people to live in and the only ride I've ever had to remove it for is Rockit due to the way the restraints work. I just wear cargo pants for that one; button them or your stuff WILL be gone.

my guess, more intense rides lead to liability issue to post the rules (hopefully enforced) so that a loose object doesn't hurt somebody on the the ride or general area.

A couple of years ago I was told to put my fanny pack in a locker and I've done it ever since, same with the coasters at IOA,I don't know if they've relaxed their policy and are less strict now as I still stick it in the locker either way. What really surprised me was having to put my fanny pack in a locker for MIB,didn't have to for a long time and one day I'm told to do it,didn't really make sense to me for this ride.

I don't like the fact that RnR at HS doesn't have lockers. I'd feel much happier with my bag being safely stowed away whilst I'm riding rather than stuffed into that tiny pocket and worrying that it might fall out.

I've started doing the same...the cargo pants with velcro work great.:) We stay on site so you don't need to carry much.:thumbsup2

We travel with diabetic supplies and epi-pens for my younger son and I cannot leave them in the locker for a ride - just in case.

I can fit it all into a small fanny pack. So if my shirt goes over it and I'm a large woman anyway - they'll just think it is extra fat and let me go on by I'm hoping?

I don't wear a fanny pack, but I wear a Vera Bradley cross body bag and they have never said anything to me except on MIB.

Just curious....since it will be our first time to USO....when would they tell you that you need to store your fanny pack ...at the beginning of the line or when you are actually about to load?

They would normally tell you at the beginning of the line. If they miss it, you'd be told when you're about to get on.

There are certain rides at both parks that REQUIRE you to store loose articles, such as bags, purses, souvenir cups etc. inside free lockers located at that attraction. The rides are:

Islands of Adventure:
Incredible Hulk
Dueling Dragons/Dragon's Challenge
Forbidden Journey (it's not announced that lockers will be needed, but based on what we know about the ride vehicle, it most likely will require lockers)

Universal Studios Florida:
Men in Black
Revenge of Mummy
Rip Ride Rockit

Their are lots of signs all over the front of these attractions that tell you that loose articles are not permitted, and the Team Member out front of the attraction is instructed to tell anyone with a loose article that they must be placed in a locker before entering the ride queue. Unfortunately, if you choose to not listen to the TM out front, or ignore the multiple signs, and you get through the line and about to get on with a bag, they WILL turn you around and you will have to go place your stuff in a locker. So, it's better off to do it before hand.

Not only so people don't get hurt (like keisha said), so it doesn't shut the ride down. MIB spins. If you aren't secured, something could fly and land on the track/floor interfering w/ the ride. Shut down. Me mad cuz it's needs to be test run before it's back up and running.

Most say it depends on the TM working. I think if they're a newbie, they are gonna tell ya to stow it. The peeps that've been working it for awhile, will know what will still fit when you are locked in.

All of the above = true. And the line "it's not a bag, it's a purse!" or any other excuse doesn't work.

Also, Forbidden Journey will Require lockers. I've heard some rather interesting things about the locker situation for HP...
