Can you 'Bounceback' while staying on DVC points?

If you are staying at WDW on DVC points, are you eligible to make a 'Bounceback" ressie for a later date? Or is that reserved only for those staying on property through CRO or WDTC?

When we were there in March there was a bounceback offer in the room. It was for 40% off a deluxe room for certain dates - I don't remember the exact dates since we really weren't interested. I also did a bounceback reservation when we were staying on points in Dec 2006 for free dining in Sept 2007. I knew about the bounceback offer from reading it here on the DIS and had to hunt up the place to do it as it was a trial run of making reservations face to face with resrvationists at the resort.

No, that wouldn't be possible with points, only if you have a cash reservation. They do have bounceback offers for villas, but again, they are for cash reservations not points owned by members. They are normally for a % off the rack rate, and offered during times when WDW is trying to fill hotel rooms.

Edited: To the poster above, but your bounceback reservation was a cash reservation, right? Although you were staying on points during the first trip, the bounceback was with cash.

The free dining bounceback was for a reservation at POR and yes it was a cash reservation. We were staying at OKW on my points at the time. There would be no free dining offered with a stay on points but I understood the question to be if you are staying on points can you make a cash bounceback reservation. Both offers stated that you had to make the reservations before you checked out. The 40% off was for deluxe resorts and the brochure was in the studio at OKW where we were again staying on my points.

It will most likely be on a flyer in your room when you arrive, or others said they saw it advertised on the resort TV station. You can always ask while you are there.

We stayed on rented points in April and we were offered the 40% off deal also.

It seems to be a random thing now that you say that as the offer was in the studio at OKW but not the one at SSR or the 2BR at OKW we had a week later after visiting friends in the Tampa area. That was the first week in March.
