Can you book package at rack rate at disney.com then apply code?

Or can you only call when a code comes out and apply it if you have made your reservations by phone?

We have 40% off already set up for September, but kids can't go then (college/high school). Thinking maybe I'll switch to summer *sigh - don't want to* and hope a code comes out, and then DH and I go alone in September.

We have 2 packages for September (one room for us, one for kids). If we cancel the september package for the kids, can we book a new package for sometime in the summer and apply the deposit from the cancelled package to the new reservation?

I believe the answer is yes. Or at least it was. I booked a pkg in june of last year and almost had it paid for when a few months later they offered a discount to disney Visa cardholders. I called they applied the code to my existing reservation and saved me $200 or $300 hundred dollars. this however does not apply tp the free dining promotion.

Last year they wouldn't let me do it and told me it was because I booked online. This is really dumb. They said they cannot modify a reservation that has been booked online. I may have had a CM that didn't know what they were talking about, but this is what they told me. I promised from now on to only book by phone.

That is what I thought I had read before, that booking a package at disney.com and calling and booking a package by calling were not the same. Which makes NO sense to me!

I booked a package last June online and then called in September I think when the disney viisa codes were announced and they modified the reservation for me no problem.
