Can You Book Bonnet Creek Resort if you are not a TimeShare Member?

Not unless you are feeling overly charitable. II has been known to cancel accounts of exchangers found to be renting out their units for anything beyond the GC fee.

I know many people rent out their II/RCI exchanges, but that's a risk I would never be willing to take.

Bonnet Creek is RCI (my membership) & not II so I can't trade into DVC (II) plus there are trade restrictions on II trades in the Orlando area.

I never thought about renting my RCI ressies but it's cool to rent out my extra Fairfield points.

Just like you Brian...I'd like to help others here on the DIS as others have helped me in the past with DVC.

I will be staying in a 4 bed suite at BC in July...32 days to go I think!! I will try to post photos if I can figure it out! I can't wait. We will have 9. My parents own FF. We are a family of 5 and staying with my parents and 2 adult sisters. Hope we don't get in each others way! As the time gets closer I am getting more nervous/ excited.

I'm already exstatic and we still have like 4 months left before we go :rotfl: I've seen the pics of the 4br and it looks really lovely, please if you can figure it out, I and many others here would love to see them and hear about your stay! Our reservation confirmation says N/A on building and N/A on Unit/Room but under "Desription" it says 4 Bed Presidential *Handicap Unit*, not that we need a Handicap Unit or requested it but I'm curious to know what building we will be in. Other posts mention "we'll be there end of July in building 2.." how do they know?

Have a great trip and if you use the shuttle service, please post the good and the bad ;)

P.S A TV in each bedroom will help with the little ones too!

Good, because that's not allowed either. ;)

My home resort is Sea Gardens, so I'm also RCI. I've thought about buying a small Star Island or Governor's Green package, deeded in slightly different names. If the names on the deed are different---even if they are in different orders---then Fairfield creates a new account. This gives you access to II. If you do that, you can transfer points between the two (at the cost of one reservation transaction) and have the best of both worlds.

Unfortunatley, I need more timeshare assets like I need a new hole in my head.

VIP owners (high points ownership) are able to make requests based on availability at the time they make the reservation. Medical need requests and VIP requests are considered first. All reservations are subject to room changes as the resort needs to do so, but they really try to accommodate.

We found out what building we are in by asking! I had my dad call and request building 1 or 2. So we found out we are in building 2 on the lake side. My parents are VIP members so I don't know if that had anything to do with the request. In fact I have no idea what VIP status even means? Anyone know??

Owners who've purchased 300,000 points or more from the developer = VIP.
Owners who've purchased 500,000 points or more from the developer = VIP Gold.
Owners who've purchased 1,000,000 points or more from the developer = VIP Platinum.

Each VIP level has certain benefits associated with it. Things like unlimited number of reservations without any added housekeeping or transaction fees. Lower points owners are given a certain number of reservations and housekeeping services per year before they have to pay an added fee - the numbers are based on the number of points owned. Some VIP levels permit a month earlier open booking window than the rest of the non-home-resort owners. Early check-in, free daily newspapers and special room requests are some of the other benefits. All VIP privileges are subject to availability and subject to change or discontinuation at any time.

We're not VIP and we don't notice these things missing. At the HUGE discount we got for our resale purchase, VIP was not enough of an incentive for us to purchase from the developer. Some people take more advantage of VIP benefits than others and care more about it. HTH! :)

No idea what status DH's friend has but whatever 7 weeks a year equals :rotfl: No clue how many points he has but tomorrow I think a call will be made to see if we can find out which building we will be in, mostly because I'm curious if we'll be able to see the fireworks from the balcony or not. And of course, how close to the pool we'll be (very important to the kids!);)

Sounds like at least VIP Gold. Regular VIP has enough points for 4 weeks high/prime time in a 1BR or 2 weeks high/prime in a 2BR. How nice!

Bonnet Creek has two pool areas open now. The main pool area has the zero entry pool, kids' water play area and floating river. The second pool has a pool slide. Both have hot tubs. None of the buildings are too far to walk to either of the pools, since the lake is not huge. Enjoy your trip!
