Can you believe this?

There were large planters across the walkway to the entrance of the pavillion. Looked pretty "long-term" to me.

Personally I think it stinks that anything is put on seasonal status.

I couldn't agree more!!! We pay the same to go into the parks in November that the people who go in July/August do, so why do we get to see proportionally less attractions?!!!!

I'm really peeved about Wonders of Life as Cranium Command is one of my favourites - the pavillion also makes a great place to hide out if it's raining as there's plenty to look at!!! ::yes::

Same here. We still have to pay, we still are wanting the vacation of our life time! Cranium Command is a favourite of ours too! Oh well...

I think the reason certain attractions are put on seasonal status is they are one step away from total removal. For whatever reason Disney has decided to do away with them. Could be it is too costly to maintain and operate, could be that it isn't a highly visisted attraction. Whatever the reason, they decide that it's time to shut the doors on the attraction. However they aren't ready to replace it with anything yet. So they leave it closed but able to be operated if necessary. If the crowds are going to be really heavy, they open the attraction to spread the crowd out. So it's not that they are trying to punish those of us who go in off-peak times (although it does seem like that sometimes), they're just trying to improve crowd control at the very busy times. They could just shelve the attraction all together, which I'm sure will eventually happen when they have something to replace it. Look at Horizons. It was on seasonal status for a long time. When they decided to tear down World of Motion to build Test Track, they opened it back up. As soon as Test Track was up and running, Horizons was gone for good.

I know the reason behind it but it seems like torture because you can see it and not get to it. I would rather it be closed for three years till they get something new then to have to be able to see it but not be able to get there. Ya know? Or even get to ride it one last time knowing that it will be the last time. Now, if they close it and say BTW we have a really cool new thing coming in 3057 so we have to close it now I would be a whole world happier. lol

Why isn't this closing/seasonal status listed on the rehab page?

Makes me wonder if Disney opens the pavillion when the crowds/staffing warrent it and close it at other times. It should get plenty of traffic from those waiting for Fastpass or loved ones on Mission Space & Test Track - even if it is not on everyone's "do or die" list anymore.

I hope to visit the pavillion next week - will let you know what I find.

Same here. I am leaving on Saturday so I should arrive in FL on Monday, hit parks on Tuesday so...I will see what is up with that or at least hear some fresh rumors.

Where do you go to find what attractions will be closed during the time of your stay? Just curious....

Kali River Rapids will be open until the 20th or 21st. Check the WDW website and get the calendar off the AK page- it will have the exact date. If your itinerary isn't too tight you could get to the AK before they shut this one down.

Kali River Rapid is closed as of the 20th till 30th. We arrive in Florida the afternoon of the 19th.

Animial Kingdom closed at 5 on the 19th...we get in at 2:00/3:00 on the afternoon of the 19th. If we don't obey posted speed laws we should be able to make it but if we have a red light between the park and us we will miss it!

I got online and created a list and things so that I knew what was going to be closed and when. I have a BIG folder that I am sure I will forget on the kitchen table. :jester:
