Can you believe Sue from survivor?

WOW! :earseek: I am certainly not a Sue fan, but I'm kind of surprised at all the negative reataction to her. Rich was doing some very intentional thrusting and rubbing (just typing it grosses me out, so I can't imagine it actually happening to me!) when Sue was standing on the platform. I truly believe she was waiting on a wider beam rather than taking the narrow beam and risk falling off. What Rich did was completely inappropriate. My guess is she was caught up in the challenge at the moment, but after she got back to camp and had time to process what had happened, she got upset. I would be FURIOUS if that happened to me. Evidently CBS felt it was inappropriate to some degree or else Jeff wouldn't have brought it up before that challenge. (Remember, he didn't bring up anything about Jenna's mother -- she brought it up.) I am not usually someone who gets too worked up about this kind of stuff, but I am amazed at how many people are saying Sue should have gotten over it and gone on with the game! Remember that when a naked man comes and rubs his thingy against you some time! :( She did NOT sign on for that when she signed up for Survivor.

my DH thought the same thing a lot of others thought...she's such a drama queen. but i pointed out to him...we don't know if something had happened to her in her past that caused her to react as she did.

I will not be judgemental here. I don't know what has happened in Sue's past in order for her to react that way to the situation. But it must have really been bad. I only hope things work out for the best because she seemed quite upset.

CBS should have made him wear clothes PERIOD. It was disgusting to see and he seemed naked alot more in this show than the first show.

What he did was wrong. Sue did nothing wrong.

Who are we to judge Sue based on an edited show we are watch in the comfort of our home? :(

While a part of me sympathizes with her, wouldn't you initial reaction be to step back or push him away? If it was going on for a couple of minutes as she claimed, why not call Jeffs attention to it? Why stand there and take it? That's the part I don't get.

Editied to add:
I also believe that CBS should have no nudity policy. I'm suprised they would let him run around that way. What if that little blur circle slipped........yuck!

On the Early show, Sue said she wasn't going to sue CBS or Richard.

just watched the interview with sue and hatch...

they both said that they had spoken to one another about the incident. appearently, richard thought sue had been taunting him and so he told her he didn't appreciate that and she told him that she didn't appreciate what he had done...she didn't think she had taunted him and he didn't think that he did quite what she claimed he did.

they've "moved on"...but it was quite clear that she wanted to be nowhere near the man! even the interviewer pointed that out!

she did say, as phamton pointed out, that she would not sue anyone. she had briefly thought about it, but decided against it.

i think that's what i got out of that interview...anyone else?

Sue: That evening, I kept reliving incident, eating into me like a cancer

Host: Do you feel that way now

Sue: It's been a long time, Hatch and I sat down and talked it out; both have different perspectives but we agreed to move forward though the audience might not

Sue: Want to say to Richard, I can understand your feelings about being naked but you need to take others perspective

Host: you are playing it down now

Sue: This was at the moment; but you have to work through things and you grow from them

Sue says something about she went back to take the shortest plank because she doesn't balance too good. Rich pointed out that planks were the same length so he didn't know what she was doing... She then brought up that Jeff told her tribe that they must enter the maze on one board and exit on the other.

Sue: I did not appreciate what I felt was an intentional move against me with his private area that upset me so much, uncalled for and bothered me

Rich: And I got to say that I didn't appreciate her taunting me from my perspective

Host: So you felt a taunt from Sue?

Rich: From my perspective but I know she doesn't feel that

Host: Do you want to apologize?

Rich: We worked it out, not a matter of apologizing but I am so sorry she feels this way and she feels so emotional

Host: Your body language is not wanting to sit this close to him

Sue: Well yeah human nature

Host: I got feeling you are going to sue everyone from last night

Sue: I did consider a lawsuit when it first occurred but I decided not to, emotionally draining and CBS.Mark burnett, and Jeff Probst have been real nice

Host: So the waters are tranquil

Sue: They are rideable

Host: You got a lot of empathy mostly from your female tribe

Sue: I didn't watch show, don't want to go back there

You know I was out last night and I taped the show. Jeff saw something. During the sceen that they showed Rich and Sue you hear Jeff saying "come on guys get moving." Then, when Sue went off, her tribe said they saw it happen. Now some of them said they didn't know the extent of it and blah blah...but they did see something.

I am going to assume Sue was violated. I have only been married for 5 years, but my DH and I have been together since I was 15. So when I hit 30 I'll have been with him for half my life. I haven't had another guy kiss me, rub me, whatever and I would feel very very gross if a naked guy rubbed up against me. If I remember it was front to front...it isn't even like she could have mistaken it as falling or whatever.

I think Sue had time to process it, think about her husband and her family, realize that this was going to be veiwed by millions of people and it all caught up with her. I think leaving was a smart idea. It stinks that she has to deal with this. Let alone deal with it in the publics eye.

Sue: The show and CBS have been very kind to me through this.

I wonder how much they paid her to drop it?

One thing that no one has brought up...Kathy was standing on the same platform when Hatch wiggled by. I think it was more a matter of 3 people squeezed on a platform and all trying not to fall off. If there was some really vulgar contact, don't you think Kathy would've noticed? And her tribemates pointed to the open plank and Sue said "I want that one" meaning the one Hatch was on. She didn't appear to be forced onto that plank.

Besides...if it were me, I would've said something at the moment. Not joked about and continued as Sue did. She was milking it. Hatch is a dog...no doubts...but she milked it.

I've watched the 'incident' several times now. Yes, Hatch rubbed against her. But, and this a big but, so did everyone else that met on a plank. For whatever reason, Sue chose that plank. How did she think they were both going to get across it without touching each other? It was very quick. Gross? Oh yeah. But there was no rubbing, grinding or thrusting. Richard did say something to her about do you want some of this, then Jeff said okay enough, we're not here for that stuff or something to that effect. Harry Smith did run the video again this morning and actually counted how long it took. It was a count of 3. And neither Susan or Richard corrected him. I think that when Sue had time to think about it, it just snow-balled in her mind, getting worse and worse. Same thing has happened to me on occasion. You get yourself so worked up that you just can't stop. Maybe she was abused earlier in life or maybe she was just being a 'drama queen'. Don't know. But the facts are what they are...she chose a plank he was already on, knew there would be a confrontation and knew he was naked, and it was only 3 seconds not minutes. As I said before...gross and disgusting. But, the sight of Richard Hatch running around naked, even from a distance would be gross and disgusting for me!!!!

I saw the show last night and I saw the interview this morning.

That host of the Early Show is an idiot. He kept trying to drag some kind of drama and confrontation out of Sue and Richard, and they weren't biting. Good for them. The host was asking ridiculous questions. I realize he was just "doing his job" but is CBS hurting that bad that he had to keep asking the same stupid questions over and over to them?? It's as if he was trying to provoke a major confrontation right there on the air.

At this point, Sue and Richard have obviously spoken about the incident and are moving past it. Sue said that CBS and Mark Burnett have been helping her, I'm assuming she meant helping her by paying for a therapist and/or cash, for her grief.

I'm not going to judge Sue at all. I can see both sides of the incident. I just thought that interview this morning was ridiculous.

It sounds to me like Sue has been paid off to be nice. Her comment about CBS has been really nice about things --- makes me think that they gave her the dollar signs she wanted to see.

She should've grabbed his walnuts and given him something to remember!!!!!

I agree 100%. He was trying to start a fight. He couldn't get a rise out of either Susan or Richard. Didn't make for very interesting TV. There go the ratings. :)

O please  Could she exaggerate a little more?

I saw the interview, too. It sounded like she was told to be quiet.

Her reaction was over the top but you never know what a person's been thru in their life.

I had this happen to me on a bus in NY...YUCK! I had a rolled up magazine in my hand and beat up all fo the men behind me because I didn't know which one did it! I just beat them like a maniac, it was an immediate reaction. I cannot IMAGINE feeling that and not reacting. Believe me, you get on the subways of NY enough you wil experience this quite a bit and NO one gets away with it with me.

That is giving me quite the mental picture....Thanks for the chuckly. 'don't know which one of you did it so you all pay!' We have to react quickly to these things, you're right about that.
