DH and I are flying in late on Friday, June 10th and would like to eat breakfast at Kona on Saturday, June 11th. Do you think I need to make ressies for 2 if we want to eat after 10?

I really do not want to make ADR's, but I do want to eat a nice, quiet breakfast w/DH at a monorail resort (we are staying at BLT) before we meet my inlaws & our kids who will be arriving via train at noon.

If you want to eat there, then yes make the reservation.

There is no way to really know if you will be able to or not.

As the "world" stands, if you want to eat anywhere specific at WDW (TS) then you need to make an adr.
It is simply so busy, free dining, very little low crowd seasons anymore...it all takes a toll on the restaurants.
And makes it very difficult to just walk up. Yes it is possible to get a TS somewhere but you never know where.

So if there is a specific restaurant you want and know it this far ahead, book it. Why take the chance?
It sounds like you do want this meal "locked" in...so I would book it. Because chances are it won't be available to walk up at.

Everytime I've eaten at Kona I have simply walked in without any reservations - and that includes a time when there was 5 of us in the party.

I just booked Kona for breakfast for 3 days from now and had no trouble getting reservations. You should probably be fine but if you know that is definitely what you want to do than just book a reservation just in case.
