Just wondered if the walk is OK to take from MGM to BW after the Fantasmic show at night. We loved walking back to BC after the fireworks at Epcot, and thought that next time we might try it with MGM and BW if it is about the same kind of walk.

Thanks!

It is a little bit more of a walk, but it is better than waiting for the boat.

The walkway is well lighted and a pleasant stroll in the evening (weather permitting). It will take about 15 minutes for most people.

Enjoy!

Not too far, well lighted, trash receptacles conveniently placed, wave to the boat as it goes by. The only "less-than-Disney" part is going under the bridge near MGM. Nothing wrong with it, just not all Disney'd-up. Never crowded, but we usually pass somebody and share the Disney Smile.

As everyone pointed out, yes you can walk and it is rather pleasant (and quicker than the boat if there is a line). As for how long it takes...........our group including 2 kids and a stroller did it in 20 minutes.

Sounds great! Thanks! Now I have an excuse to stay at BW instead of BCV! I want to try out all of the DVC resorts, but the family fell in love with BCV and they wanted to stay there again. This added feature to BW (being able to walk back from MGM--the park we plan to spend the most time in next time) convinced DH to give it a try!

Thanks!!!!!

..... after a looong day in the parks the last thing my feet feel like doing is hiking back to the resort. If you got the energy though it is great alternative to waiting for a boat.

Shhhh................I won't tell your DH, but the walk back to the resort isn't a selling point that is limited to the BW. Add 5 to 10 minutes to the walk and you are at the BCV. Along the path back from the Studios you will pass the BWV and entrance to the BW. You can continue straight over the bridge and continue on to the YC/BC.

This walk isn't limited to BWV. BVC works just as well, maybe a little longer, but still not bad....

For me, it's just the opposite. After a looong day in the parks, the last thing my feet feel like doing is standing in a line waiting for a boat. Lots easier to just keep moving. Have always been back home before the first boat docks. :teeth:
