Can we trade pins from other Disney Parks?

Hello everyone!

I want to do pin trading when we go to DLRP in March and I was thinking of buying a lot of pins on eBay but it seems they are mostly from WDW and Disneyland CA.

Is it rude to trade pins from there? Can we just go up to a CM and trade? Is there any other tips or tricks that we need to know?

Thanks!!

Yes you can, i have traded lots of pins with CM's in DLP that have been from all Disney parks.

You can trade pins from any other park. There is also more chance of them not having that particular pin too.

Just be nice to everyone and if you are in doubt then just show them your lanyard, I had one CM stop what they were doing and walk over to me asking me if I wanted to trade!

Just remember that it's a maximum of two pins with each CM every day and that all the CM's pins have to be different too.

I remember being asked by a CM if i wanted to trade and i said no becuase i had got all my trades for that day, i felt a bit guilty :lmao:

I also stopped a CM on her way to work and traded with her.

Thanks everyone!!

We'll buy from eBay and let the kids trade! We have an 8 year old and a 4 year old, both girls. I am more excited then they are!! :cool1:

we have traded ebay pins from WDW on our trip in January...

word of warning ....check the pins are genuine when swapping

my youngest swapped with a CM at WDS and then wanted a different pin another CM had on. The second CM would not swap as this new pin was not genuine:eek: ... we saw a manager and it was sorted out, the original cast member was nowhere to be seen...maybe just walking through shop on his way out or to different place of work. But there are fakes out there on CM lanyards ...

Great point! Is there something on the back of the pin that states it's an official Disney pin?

Thanks!

This is what I was thinking about getting. Both of my kids would get 25 pins to trade and it looks like a good deal. What you guys think?:

Always found that if it says Disney on the back and it has a mickey mouse rubber back and the pin is actually made of metal, this is fine.

Glad the incident was sorted out with the fake pin. I would have felt awful being told I couldn't swap because it was a fake. How terrible.

Pin trading is such good fun. I usually buy some low priced ones on ebay before I go, pins I wouldn't want myself, just so I can do some swapping when i get there.

If the pins are to our liking it is very difficult to want to part with them.

I always buya grab bag of ebay for 10 or more pins, never had any trouble trading them.
