Can we? Should we? A Spring 2009 PTR - New 5/6 - The TR has begun!

Thanks! I started a thread over on the disABILITIES board - feel free to post a link to either... I finished Alex's yesterday and need to post pics. Hopefully tomorrow.

pm me a link to it so I can find your thread....

I think we'll stick with Frontierland because it's worked for us before - I didn't think about riding BTMRR after the parade though- everyone says it's fun to ride in the dark! Great idea! :thumbsup2

Yes we love riding BTMRR in the dark too....I did it twice in 08! FUN!!!!

We watched the parade near the Hall of Presidents. :thumbsup2

we could have waved to each other....bummer another dismeet possiblity for us

Day 8 of DisMomAmy's super lame 10 days of Disney countdown:

it is not lame!

Online Check In! check that off my list!:banana::banana::banana:

Yay! for you for getting the online check-in to work....was I like the only one who couldn't?:confused3

Thanks for all the info. about online check-in! So you couldn't make any room requests while online?

The only requests you could make were for a fridge or pack & play... and obviously I didn't need the fridge since CBR has them. I've heard that any requests made over the phone do stay with your reservation whether you do online check in or not - you just have to call. I'll be sure to let you know how it all works out when we get back. :thumbsup2

I didn't think I was going to be able to do online check-in because I couldn't find it... but once I logged in it was all good. That's strange that you couldn't get it to work... :confused3

I'll PM you that link... also, the mod put it in a sticky.

I'm hoping it will make our Sunday early afternoon check-in quicker.

OK so nobody caught me on this one... we'll be checking in on a Monday afternoon - not a Sunday afternoon. :rolleyes1 Hopefully it will be less busy than a Sunday. ;)

We had a good morning at Alex's swim meet. DH & Zach came to this one - he swam 4 events & won 2 of them. :thumbsup2

Coming right up... Day 7 of my 10 days of Disney.

Day 7 of DisMomAmy's super lame 10 days of Disney countdown:

Today's exciting Disney event is a check in on my to-do list:

2 weeks to go: (4/12 – 4/18)
• 4/12 – Easter - DONE
• 4/18 – Alex has a swim meet - DONE
• Buy Alex’s special bread/almond butter – DONE
• Buy snacks for travel day – DONE
• Pull apart Disney binder and take only what’s needed
• Make daily park bags
• Start packing into suitcases – making myself wait until after Easter to drag the suitcases upstairs! - DONE (started)
• Get money organized - DONE
• Roll coins from change jar - DONE
• Get my glasses/sunglasses adjusted at Lenscrafters - DONE
• Make list of addresses for postcards/get postcard stamps
• Make list of DISers/TGMers who have overlapping trips - DONE
• Online check in!! - DONE
• Call Disney – confirm room requests & DME info entered online
• Ribbon for DIS tag - DONE
• DH finish loading ipods
• Stranger Danger?
• Organize DVDs - DONE

So as you can see there are quite a few things I didn't get to this week, but I did get a lot of packing done this afternoon. I pulled everything out of the boxes and suitcases and repacked them into the appropriate suitcases. My greatest organizational challenge has been figuring out how to pack... We can only check 4 bags with JetBlue (Southwest was 2 per person vs. 1 per person with JetBlue), so we'll need to carry on a couple small rolling suitcases (carry on size). Obviously we need to pack most of the liquids in the checked baggage but I also want to pack so that we only need to open a couple bags at DBIL's with the majority of our "stuff" in the other bags that we don't need for the first couple of days.

So here's what I have to accomplish this week:

Last week: (4/19 – 4/25)
• Print entertainment schedules from Steve Soares site
• Pull apart Disney binder and take only what’s needed
• Make daily park bags
• Make list of addresses for postcards
• Call Disney – confirm room requests & DME info entered online
• DH finish loading ipods
• Stranger Danger video

• Print TGM articles/viewing spots - DONE
• Check weather – doing daily :rolleyes1
• Remind school about kids missing 5/4
• Final laundry/packing
• Print grocery list
• Charge everything
• Online check-in – JetBlue
• Clean house/change sheets
• Finalize rental car
• Pay Bills/check online banking

• Program addresses into GPS - DONE
• Hair cuts
• Pedicure

The next couple days of the countdown will be the boys must see lists. :yay:

Good job Alex!:thumbsup2

I think it looks like you've accomplished a lot this week. It doesn't look like there's anything too major left to get done. What's hubby putting on the ipods? Sorry, I'm nosey.;)

Yay Alex!:cool1: That's awesome and how nice he had a big cheering section!!

It was fun - and he'll have an even bigger cheering section when his grandmothers come to the state games in June.

Good job Alex!:thumbsup2

I'm glad it looks like I've accomplished a lot... I feel like there's a lot still to do.

Zachary listens to "calming music" on CD so we put it on an ipod. He loves Andrea Bocelli so we put his favorite CD on the ipod shuffle. Then we put all sorts of stuff on DH's "old" video ipod - the rest of Zach's music, a wide mix of my music (probably mostly 80's stuff) and a couple movies (including Mary Poppins). DH has a lot of audio books on his ipod for his many hours in the car. I also wanted to make sure he has plenty of game "apps" so we can use the ipod to play games - Alex like bowling & air hockey. I want solitaire. :goodvibes

I've never done the Hall of Presidents. I would have this last trip, but of course - it was closed.

Didn't they send you an email for online check in?? I just remember clicking on something in the email they sent me.

Woohoo for 7 days!!!! :cool1:

I just went hunting for it - they did send me a confirmation email AFTER I checked in.

Hall of Presidents... :sad2: Alex would have loved it...

Sorry! Yay for FIVE days!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

That's odd. I got the confirmation email and then many others after that. But, I definitely got one just for online check in. Do you check your bulk/spam mail? Maybe it went there.

Hmmm... that certainly would have made things easier. I'll have to look...

That's funny. Alex's list sounds something like my 11 year old thrill seeker's list. Count me out of most of those rides.:scared1:

yea for 5 days!!!:dance3::banana::banana:

Well, between Zach's slow & gentle choices and Alex's fast & furious ones, you'll certainly be hitting just about everything in the parks!!

Way to go, Alex! Great job at the swim meet! :thumbsup2

Kathy

I like all of the boys choices....do I see a trend in Alex's :rotfl:good thing one of his parents likes all that crazy stuff too!

Michael says another fun thing for the slow and easy crowd at Epcot is the 3 Amigos boat ride in Mexico. He really likes Donald and it was kinda cute. no lines!

and don't forget your KPWMA too at Epcot.....can you figure that one out?

What about Mom & Dad what are your top choices?

Only a few more days!:dance3:

Oh if and when you split for TT do you? the Minnie's butterfly garden is right there...you can't actually see it but it is to your right if you are looking at TT.

and may I suggest. We did this when my parents and I did EE Matt took the kids to see the FOW show, we got back over there before the show was done but it worked out pretty well.

and another split we did at Studios for TOT the rest of who didn't ride hung out at the AT and got autographs.

hope that helps.
