Can we? Should we? A Spring 2009 PTR - New 5/6 - The TR has begun!

Happy Snow Day!! Not so happy here though… today was supposed to be the kids first day back to school after a VERY LONG vacation week! And now we are getting a foot of snow! :headache: There was also supposed to be a special lunch function at Alex’s school today for Read Across America Week. The PTO hosts a Green Eggs & Ham lunch. My neighbor and I are the co-president’s of the PTO. The snow day has thrown a little kink in the planning of the event. I had to call the principal at home yesterday – which was a little strange… I’ve had his home phone number and cell phone number for a while, but it was a little strange to actually call him. Luckily we can have the lunch tomorrow but my neighbor can’t attend because she has to work. :sad2:

Yesterday I headed out in the little bit of snow we were getting and did a little pre-storm shopping at Wal-mart. I had to get a few groceries and some items for Alex’s character parade costume on Thursday. (Also part of Read Across America Week.) He is going as Arthur (you know – the aardvark…). It was a mob scene!! I should have gone on Saturday… oh well. But I did find my closet shoe storage thingy. I don’t have a picture of it, but it has a couple different pocket sizes. :thumbsup2

On Friday, the 60-day window for our timeshare opened up. I really didn’t want to look but finally, on Sunday, I looked. And there were two different Marriott 2 bedroom condos available. I had hoped there wouldn’t be and really didn’t expect there to be – since we are checking in on a Monday and those are not as common. DH & I discussed – over and over throughout the day. It would save us some money (not a ton) and we would have more space. We wouldn’t eat at as many TS restaurants, which we thought would be a plus, but we’ve gotten used to the idea and are now looking forward to all 7 restaurants we have selected for our ADRs. It will be a lot of fun staying on-site, especially with the great pools at CBR. Staying on-site also gives us the opportunity to split up if we want to. After going back and forth… we decided to…

Is it the condo??

Is it CBR??

We are sticking with CBR!!!!!!!!! This may be the first of many on-site stays or it may be our only opportunity so we are going for it!

Whew! You had me worried for a minute -- I am so relieved that you are staying with CBR. :goodvibes

I am sorry that the snow is ruining your plans -- the Green Eggs and Ham lunch sounds like a lot of fun!

Yay for CBR!! :yay: :yay:

I can't believe the rest of the Northeast is covered in snow and we have NOTHING! March tends to be one of the snowiest months here. Oh well..not going to complain!

Good for you doing the PTO thing! You are a very busy mommy! The Green Eggs and Ham lunch sounds fun!

We can now say we are going to Disney NEXT MONTH! :woohoo: :woohoo: Our 45 day mark is this week...it's starting to get so close!

Enjoy your snow day! :thumbsup2

Epcot Time!! :woohoo:

Epcot-
• Soarin
• Test Track
• Mission Space – (the calmer side)
• Spaceship Earth – close for rehab in 2007
• Nemo – One of Zach’s favorites
• Journey into the Imagination – can’t remember ever riding this??? My 2 cents on this: we don't really like the ride anymore...after they changed it just isn't the smae campy fun anymore. It's worth a do if you have time, but if you had to choose between the ride or the Kodak labs becuase you don't have time to do both....IMHO do JUST the Kodak Labs.
• World Showcase – passports/masks This really is fun, I bet Zach would enjoy the mask!
• Character Connection – depending on wait times
• Linger in WS after Illuminations
• Coca Cola cooling station – I bet I can get DH to drink Beverly!!
• Robot/Toy museum in Japan
• Quiet walkway between FW/WS via Odessey Center
• Boat from International Gateway to DHS
• Lady Bug Release in Germany at 1:00 & 3:00
• Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure I'll let you know how it goes
• Photopass the special digital shots here are Tink in your hands in front of SSE, MM, MN, & Goofy Soarin over your heads outside Soarin, and I think you can sit next to Stitch on a bench
• Street shows in WS - I saw the chair stacking guy and the juggling guy in Italy - the kids would love to see both of those shows! And I'm sure there are other great ones too!
• Maelstrom
• Mexico boat ride

The entertainment schedule is on the back of the Times Guide. You can also check out it out on Steve Soares site to get an idea before you go.

I had me worried... and again yesterday - they let 10-15 people go at Tim's company yesterday and cut bonuses by 25% until further notice. Luckily they said they will still pay his annual bonus at 100% because it was for the period ending 2/1. His boss's boss was surprised that it hadn't already been paid. And luckily we have paid our last tuition payment for preschool, which is what we had been using his quarterly bonuses for. I'm just so glad he still has a job! I was again considering the timeshare last night. But Tim set me straight - "This may be our only chance for a while - we are going!" :lovestruc

I'm over snow days!! The kids are now going to be in school until Wednesday, June 24th (they would have gotten out on 6/15 with no snow days) but I'm secretly happy about that! Alex will only have 2 days off before summer program starts. It should make for a smooth transition! :thumbsup2

Yay for CBR! :cool1:

Hope the lunch goes smoothly today. :goodvibes

The lunch was a ton of fun - the kids always get a kick out of it. The first lunch is for kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders. The kindergartners are always shocked at the sight of green eggs. :scared1: The second lunch is for 3rd, 4th & 5th graders. It's amazing how much food they eat! I don't know where they put it all! :confused3

Unfortunately our memory stick was full on Epcot day 2007. DH took the camera to the photo place in Epcot and apparently they couldn't help him get the photos on a CD so these are the only two pictures I have from that day:

However, I do have a bunch of great photos from my visit with my mom last spring:

These gnomes were so hard to find. I think we found 6 or so - and there were 25 or something ridiculous like that hidden in the garden!
