Can we? Should we? A Spring 2009 PTR - New 5/6 - The TR has begun!

Great suggestions/comments everyone! I'll be back to comment more on that later but I wanted to share my latest pet project. I just found out that a friend (more like a friend of a friend) will be there the same week as us. They just booked and have never been!

The mom (Heather) is a good friend of my good friend (Nicole - who will be there the week before us). The three of us went to Las Vegas together in 2006. We had a great time. Nicole and I went to high school together and I used to babysit her daughter Anna for a while. Zachary is in love with Anna. We see them every few months -we get together for pizza and go to the beach together in the summer. Reilly (Heather's daughter) is best friends with Anna. Alex is in love with Reilly.:lovestruc

Obviously Alex doesn't know we might see Reilly because he doesn't even know we are going yet. ;) But when he does find out - he'll be very excited. I might not tell him though - just in case we don't see them.

Anyways - back to my pet project - I emailed Heather to see what her plans are. They are staying at Port Orleans - she didn't say which one... And they have 6 ADRs - most of them are at resorts. I let her know where we are staying and what our plans are. Then she emailed me with questions... Now I've got her right where I want her!!! Just kidding... but it's fun to help someone else plan their trip. Especially if we might bump into each other. It helps pass the time when there isn't really any planning for me to do right now. I sent her some info from allears with the dining menus and I sent her info from touringplans with the crowd calendars. Hopefully she'll have more questions for me. :thumbsup2

I also offered her 4 of the ADRs that I need to cancel - one of which is a highly sought after Chef Mickey's dinner reservation.

I'll keep you posted on "my" planning. :rotfl2:

They sell fudge in the same store as the Villains shop.

That's right! Now I remember! That is where we got it, as we were exiting the park....but I think Julie is right also, they sell it at Starring Rolls along with lots of yummy baked goods!

Ooooh, not good....getting a real sweet tooth on now....... (!)

mommytothreeboys: I agree that the Great Movie Ride is more for mom & dad than for the boys, but I think it has enough action to keep them entertained. Although I'm sure there are some parts that could be scary! Maybe we'll save this ride for the day we are there with DBIL & family. The boys don't know the Indy movies, but I'm sure they'll get a kick out of the stunts - especially Zach.

Kathy: I didn't even think about the "dark" parts of Fantasmic! I'm sure that would really scare Zachary. I guess that seals the deal for me - F! is off the list for this year. I'm actually relieved... I'm afraid of those crowds! I guess that sends us back to MK for our last night - a "red" night according to TGM!

Momof2Disneyboys: We'll be there on 2 different days so we hope to fit most of it in. If we don't see everything that's OK - these are just goals. But we'll probably split up the 2 shows on the 2 different days. I think the cousins would like LMA better than Indy - I assume they have probably seen Indy before, but I'm not sure...

MRYPPNS: You are totally right about the Backlot Tour - I guess I'd forgotten (or erased from memory) the long boring parts. I'll have to see if I can find out anything about the rehab before we go. If there isn't much to it then we'll definitely skip it again. I guess I felt that it was a must do because we haven't gone on it in so long - now I remember why. ;)

And you are sooo right about Zach & the Lion King (good memory) - F! could be too dark for him in the stage he is in right now. :scared1: Already taken it off the list - I'll call and cancel that ADR sometime this week.

mousescrapper: I can't wait to see Playhouse Disney! The boys have never seen it! We skipped it in 06 because they didn't really know the characters that used to be in it and it was closed in 07. When I heard about the update I was sad because I didn't think the kids would still be into it on our next visit. But yay!! they are! :cool1:

Thanks for the photopass info! Again! (keep it coming :))

The well... I thought you told me about this... was it Heidi?? Isn't there a well near the Indy show?

SwansLoveDisney: Mmmmmm... fudge. I'll definitely be on the lookout. DH will crack up when he finds out I've been reaching out to my DISfriends about where to buy fudge! :rotfl:

Kathy: Two choices!! Maybe I'll check out both spots! ;)

Just a quick note to anyone visiting WDW during the upcoming F&G Festival...

There is a big write up in today's Allears Newsletter. Yes - Minnie's butterfly garden will be back! The theme is Celebrations and there will be more topiaries than there have been since 2001! Returning favorites and a bunch of new ones. There is going to be a section near the butterfly garden called Pixie Hollows with Tink & friends. It sounds fabulous!!

Can't wait!!

I noticed the title of the newsletter and saved it to read later today. I'm thinking we may need two days at Epcot just so we can see everything! (we can only do one park two days - the rest get only one - originally I was going to do MK for a second time on our last day, but we may need to rethink that).

When I was sharing our itinerary with DH last night - he actually asked to see it:scared1: - he was commenting on how much there is to do at Epcot and was wondering if we have planned enough time. I'm really excited for it!

I got up this morning and checked our bank account and guess what... no bonus!!! DHs giant bonus that we need TODAY to pay off our package by TOMORROW was not there! :scared1:  :sad2:

He went to work and got it all straightened out and has a check in the bank already. :cool1:

So I called and paid off our package in full just a few minutes ago!!

And I'm not feeling any guilt at all - the bonus was about $3000 more than I expected! I'm sure they didn't figure out the taxes right but we'll have to deal with that next year. :rolleyes1 (So now we have the $1300 we need to have the rest of the trees cut down that broke and fell during the ice storm!)

We're going to Disney in 46 days!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Congrats on paying off the balance!

Thank you!!

Hurray for paying off the balance!!! It's such a great feeling, isn't it? :cheer2:

I didn't realize how good it would feel! When I got off the phone, I felt like I had to go pack.

Woo-Hoo for the Paid in Full dance!!

:cheer2: :dance3: :banana::dancer: party: :banana: :dance3: :cheer2:

I'm glad the bonus stuff worked out...I would have FREAKED!!

I'm surprised I didn't freak - and especially that DH didn't blow up. His boss's boss had told him to call if the bonus wasn't in the bank today. He called and it got squared away. :thumbsup2

***********************************************************************************

I'll get my DHS pictures up today or tomorrow. Then I want talk strollers and rental cars before I move on to Animal Kingdom.

WE TOLD THE BOYS!!!

I went to tell DH something about the rental car situation (which I'll expand on later) but he was playing Wii with the boys. I stopped myself and told him I would talk to him about it later. Then he says, "Since we're paid in full, should we let the cat out of the bag? Do you think 6 weeks is too far ahead?"

What???????:scared1:

Of course I jumped on the opportunity - because I can hardly contain myself. :rolleyes1

We called DH's brother and had him tell the kids.

Well let's just say their response was underwhelming. :sad2: I think it's because they were trying to play Wii and they are both a bit obsessed with it. We don't let them play until after dinner during the week. And we set a timer for 30 minutes each. Apparently this big announcement was interrupting their time... :headache:

This morning they had more questions and sounded more excited. I'm glad we told them now because now we have 6 weeks to build up the excitement.

I'm still going to try to contain myself until after Easter. Then I'll drag out the suitcases and start getting everybody wound up!!

So what's next?? Putting all of those Mickey Heads to good use making a countdown poster!! I was telling Alex about it today and he thought it sounded like a good idea - so no garland this year. ;)

Ugh....darn Wii. I'm sure they will get more excited as you talk to them about it.
