Can we? Should we? A Spring 2009 PTR - New 5/6 - The TR has begun!

Are we going to be making a 30-day countdown calendar soon?

Hey here's some dancin for under 60 days!!!!

:dance3: :dance3:   :dancer: (i know you love that guy!)

Love the MK goals and all the great new pictures from the last (last) vacation.

I really think you will all LOVE TSI...I'm looking forward to it again w/ my DDad...he is a big kid himself. Hime & the kids will have so much fun there. Also I dind't know this, but if you go first thing in the morning the CM's hide paintbrushes all over the island for the kids to find...don't remember if you get a prize or something but sounds fun!

Plus great score on the muscle shirts!

J-

I can't do a 60 day count down because the kids don't know... but I'll do a 14 day countdown to include as part of their surprise - or however many days it ends up being.

TSI looks like fun - I remember reading about the paint brushes somewhere too - I think SwansloveDisney Julie went there with her DH and found a paintbrush. I think they got a Mickey ice cream bar. :confused3

The muscle shirts arrived yesterday - they seem a little young - but Alex will like them for Disney. And I'm sure Zach will get a future Disney trip out of them too. :rolleyes1

That's a lot of Mickey heads!!!

Yeah... I got a bit carried away. I got flustered. I wouldn't make a very good shoplifter! First I grabbed a stack of Alien Green. Then I decided to grab some red & blue (the boys favorite colors). We looked around for the closet shoe storage thing (they had one but it was too fancy) and then I swung back by the paint area and started grabbing a bunch of other colors!!! I did take way too many - but I'll save them for future trips. Once in a while someone here on the DIS wants some but they don't have a HD near them. Maybe I'll be a Mickey Head Fairy Godmother!! :wizard:

LOL!! Looks like someone went to Home Depot!! Are you going to make a calendar? Can't wait to see it! :thumbsup2

We've made countdown garlands in the past & in 2007 I attached Mickey Heads to the garland when Alex was at school. Apparently I had vandalized his garland because he was not happy with me. I had to remove the Mickey Heads. :sad2: I think I'll go with a calendar this time. ;)

I'm going to make a few new LGMH DIS tags too. Maybe I'll use the rest for the scavenger hunt for the kids surprise reveal. I can attach the clues to the paint chips!

Today is my official 2 month mark for Disney. We will have arrived 2 days earlier and spent the weekend with DBIL, his girlfriend and the 2 cousins. Today (well in 2 months...) we'll head to CBR to check-in and start our Disney vacation!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

Since I already danced, I'll just do a little cheer:

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I keep forgetting your kids don't know! How do you do it!!! It will be so fun when you reveal...can't wait to hear about it!

That sounds like a really cute idea! So nice of Home Depot to make those Mickey Heads for us...they come in so handy!

Hurray for two months!!!

:ccat: :donald: :sulley: :tigger: :simba: :stitch: :dumbo: :figment: :goofy: :mickeyjum

Thanks! Oooo... Zachary would like all of those bouncing characters!!

I'm having very hard time keeping the secret!! And Zachary gets so mad when I talk about Disney! He tells me I can talk about it if we go there. :rotfl:

I already started working on the surprise plans - I've been writing the clues for the scavenger hunt. I'll be sure to share that with everyone. :goodvibes

Epcot Time!! :woohoo:

I think I am most excited for Epcot this year. Especially the World Showcase. We didn’t even step foot in the WS in 2007. I can’t wait to see the Flower & Garden Festival displays. I really enjoyed our day in Epcot last spring when I visited with my mom. We are going to try a lot of new things to help keep the kids occupied. We are probably going to try out the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure. Plus we have the options of creating masks and/or doing passports. I am also hoping to see some of the street shows. Does anyone know if there is a schedule for the street shows?? Or is it hit or miss??

Epcot-
• Soarin
• Test Track
• Mission Space – (the calmer side)
• Spaceship Earth – close for rehab in 2007
• Nemo – One of Zach’s favorites
• Journey into the Imagination – can’t remember ever riding this???
• World Showcase – passports/masks
• Character Connection – depending on wait times
• Linger in WS after Illuminations
• Coca Cola cooling station – I bet I can get DH to drink Beverly!!
• Robot/Toy museum in Japan
• Quiet walkway between FW/WS via Odessey Center
• Boat from International Gateway to DHS
• Lady Bug Release in Germany at 1:00 & 3:00
• Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure
• Photopass
• Street shows in WS - I saw the chair stacking guy and the juggling guy in Italy - the kids would love to see both of those shows! And I'm sure there are other great ones too!
• Maelstrom
• Mexico boat ride

We’ll be spending the late afternoon/evening at Epcot on our first day, plus the full day of day 6 (I’m nervous because it’s a Saturday during F&G Festival – could be busy). Day 7 is flexible so we could go back for a little while if we want to. Here are our dining plans:

Day 1 – Garden Grill
Day 6 – Teppan Edo for lunch & Le Cellier for dinner

Up Next: Epcot Pictures!

Epcot is our FAVORITE park! Especially the World Showcase. My boys did both the passport and the masks....well, they didn't do the mask at every country, but they did complete their passports. I would highly recommend purchasing one for each boy. It is a little pricey, but the CMs write messages in their native languages and some even draw pics or do cool personalized stuff. It is well worth the price! I thought maybe we wouldn't do them again this year, but DH has totally decided to override me! HE loves them as much as the boys do...I'm surprised he doesn't want one for himself!:rotfl:

I can’t wait to see the Flower & Garden Festival displays.
Absolutely breathtaking!

I am also hoping to see some of the street shows. Does anyone know if there is a schedule for the street shows?? Or is it hit or miss??

I think there is a performer schedule somewhere....maybe at Guest Services? I remember seeing one, just not sure where!

We were there on a Saturday during F&G in 2007 and didn't notice that it was any more crowded than earlier in the week. We had already done all the big rides so maybe that's why we didn't notice. We just wandered around WS and shopped. (we were only there in the AM)

Your "must-do" list looks great! You are a braver woman than I to attempt ANY level of Mission Space! :worship:

Great Epcot must-dos!!!

*Nemo: We have never tried this -- is it cute?
*Imagination: I have never seen a line here -- it's cute and air-conditioned -- two pluses in my book.
*Club Cool: Promise to get a picture of DH trying the Beverly.
*Ladybug Release: I didn't know about this -- it sounds really cool!
*Kim Possible: We want to do this, also!

Have you eaten at Garden Grill before? I like the idea of a revolving floor.

Teppan Edo -- mmmmmm, I can taste the shrimp!

Mission Space - low key version - was not that impressive actually... I want to ride it again now that I sort of know what to expect because I was nervous last time waiting for something bad to happen. :scared: But it never did. :goodvibes I rode it with my mom during our April trip last year. My family has never ridden it. Zachary is really into space so I think he'd like it.

I forgot to put Turtle Talk on my list... we've never caught that show - the timing just didn't work out for us in 2007.

I'll look for that entertainment schedule when we get there! Thanks!

Great Epcot must-dos!!!

*Nemo: We have never tried this -- is it cute? Zachary really likes it! I think it's worth riding at least once. There are live fish mixed with video fish.
*Imagination: I have never seen a line here -- it's cute and air-conditioned -- two pluses in my book. Was there a similar ride but without Figment??
*Club Cool: Promise to get a picture of DH trying the Beverly. Absolutely!
*Ladybug Release: I didn't know about this -- it sounds really cool! I'll have to drag out my Flower & Garden Festival guide from last year. Hunting for gnomes in the gardens in Norway was really cool too - they were soooo hard to find!
*Kim Possible: We want to do this, also! I wasn't sure until I watched some of the youtube videos. Pretty cool! I think the teenage cousins will like it too!

Have you eaten at Garden Grill before? I like the idea of a revolving floor. First time! Can't wait!

Teppan Edo -- mmmmmm, I can taste the shrimp!

I'm worried about the food at Teppan Edo b/c Alex & I are very picky! We wouldn't have gone there just the 4 of us - but I think it's a great choice for the 8 of us! Looks like fun!

The entertainment schedule is on the back of the Times Guide. You can also check out it out on Steve Soares site to get an idea before you go.

Thanks! I actually thought of that after I posted my update. I added a bullet point to my "to do" list - "print schedules from steve soares website! The acrobats in China look fun too! And the candy lady! I think my list is getting too long!:rolleyes1

Keeping in mind that I can't ride the carousel or any type of playground swing for more than a minute or two without getting sick...do you think I could handle it? I'm so afraid to try and then be sick for 2 hours after the ride. Do you get motion sick at all? I'd love to hear your opinion! :confused3

I don't get motion sick - but DH does - on spinning or simulator rides. Never actually "gets sick" but doesn't feel right for the rest of the day. I'm not sure if he should ride it or not... My mother gets sick on rides like the tea cups and she did OK on MS. I might search around a little here on the DIS and see what I can find out.

Sounds like your DH and I have the same issues. Rollercoasters don't bother me a bit, but put me on those teacups and my day is ruined! I think I'll just play it safe and get a nice Mickey ice cream bar :mickeybar while the rest of the family rides. I didn't feel like I missed out last time, so I think I'll be fine! Thanks for the input! :goodvibes

The Flower and Garden Festival is beautiful!! :goodvibes We really missed it on our January trip after going the last 2 years in May!

Heidi, you beat me to it! :rotfl:

Amy, I use this extensively when formulating my Operational Plans!

We enjoyed Minnie's Butterfly Tent last April.....is it planned again? Quiet and low-key....pretty butterflies!

That's probably the best idea! Especially if you don't feel like you missed out on anything. :goodvibes

Thanks Kathy! I had completely forgotten about his site. I enjoyed Minnie's Butterfly Tent too - I hope they are going to do it again.
