Can we pay for dining with a travelers check?

I have decided against the Disney Dining Plan. Do all Disney restaurants accept travelers checks? Is there anything in Disney World that would refuse one?
Thank You-

From the DIS Planning tab: Forms of payment

Cash (U.S. Currency)
Traveler's Checks (must be in U.S. Dollars) Photo ID required
Disney Dollars (Disney's own currency)
Credit Cards
Currency Exchange
Walt Disney World Gift Cards
Disney Visa Rewards Card

Why not just buy a Visa gift card or use your ATM debit card as a credit card? Travelers checks will require you to flash an ID and your change will be cash. If you are trying to minimize handling cash a card is a better option. Keep in mind you can buy gift cards in demoninations just like travelers cheques. I haven't used travelers cheques in over a decade.

you can get travelers checks for free (AAA) but there is a $5.00 charge for check cards. Living in the Stone age as I do, I still get travelers checks. Cash one each morning at the resort desk so I have cash in my pocket. I always carry $50 or so in cash. You never know when the computer system will go down and, if it does, they still can take that green paper!!!

My mom gave me travelers cheques for my first trip to WDW with grandma, I was 12 and WDW was just The Magic Kingdom. Even then I wasn't wasteful and returned home with some unused TCs. Mom made me take her out to lunch with that money. Perhaps I'm still harboring some ill feelings about that against TCs. :lmao: Not really, it is a very fond memory for me. Time with the mouse, grandma and taking mommy for lunch. I even recall the restaurant and the pride in paying when the bill came.

PP's plan of cashing one at the resort is a good one if you don't mind carrying cash. You'll be able to use those TCs at restaurants and gift shops. Probably a bit awkward at a kiosk and some of the stands (Dole Whips, etc.)

It is time to get on the band wagon and catch up somewhat to the ways of the younger generation. I would still be writing checks at the grocery if my grand daughter had not taught me how to use a debit. :sad2: Thanks for the nudge forward Septbaby:)
