Can we just start talking about Halloween now????

Can everyone help me justify the price? I really want to go, but for what will cost our family approximately $800 (AUD) I'm struggling to see the worth of it.

I know lines are shorter on rides, and there are a heap of characters out, and you can go trick or treating in the park, but am I missing something else? For an extra $800 I could add a whole extra day on our tickets and buy a bunch of candy to dump out on the bed of our hotel room when we get back...
Well I have never gone but it's been on the bucket list and I can't imagine going to Disneyland for Halloween and NOT doing it. In the past there has also been a special Halloween world of color show, the Halloween parade, and there is the villains grove walk through. I'd go watch some YouTube videos of the party.

If you are someone who rarely goes to the parks, I don't really think it's worth doing OBB and you should just spend the evening at Disneyland instead. The primary draw for OBB would be the unique things that you cannot normally do in the parks: shows, trick or treating and rare characters or characters in outfits exclusive to the event. If you highly value your time and have extra money to burn, going for shorter waits on rides is fine too.

If this is your one trip in many years and you are going less than 5 days, I don't think it makes sense to do OBB. But I would recommend adding OBB instead of a 6th day because you could do all the normal stuff in 5 days and the unique stuff on your OBB day. Plus, with that many days, you probably will need some time to rest so the morning of OBB, you could sleep in rather than go into the parks.

Thanks.
I think at the moment I'll just wait for tickets and dates to be released, and see where it puts our budget.

Soooo....we're just about at April. I'm guessing that since there hasn't been any announcement about OBB tickets yet then our hopes for the early release might be dashed. Still hope for a late announcement though I suppose.

I am still holing out for a half ways to Halloween announcements at the end of April.

also.. park reservations for that first week in September would open at the beginning of May. It would be nice for folks then to have the party dates as they made their reservations

This is exactly what I’m hoping for. It just doesn’t make sense to have to potentially rearrange your reservations to match the party dates. Especially given the risk of not having the availability you need.

For southwest friends: flights for September/October open on Wednesday.

if you are a Sam's club member you can get a southwest $500 gift card for $450. I bought two this morning.

I've had this date on my calendar for weeks and yet keep checking every day to see if they've opened them up early. lol

I'm just hoping the prices will be low when they come out. Flights over the summer have consistently stayed the same and I'm not thrilled with the rates I've been seeing.

I hope you guys can get the flights you want!

We officially chose our dates and booked the hotel. Sept 26-30th can't come fast enough! (183 days away... very slow days lol)

Crossing fingers for a late summer discount to knock a bit off the DLH price tag and now all I can do is wait.. and wait.. and wait some more ::yes::

I agree. I don't know what to expect for October prices.

How many of you are planning your costumes? Do you even dress up? Just curious how many adults dress for the occasion.
We’re going in September(probably 20 to 23). I’ll be glad when they announce the dates so can decide when we’re going. I love to dress up. I’m going Steampunk. I’m even doing my scooter as a time machine. I can hardly wait

Thanks. I get emails from them and have been waiting every week for a special to come out.

SW flights are up - prices still suck from Denver. Have to keep watching.

I booked my flights for October back in January (through Delta). At the time, I figured I was basically crazy for buying that early, but now flight prices are absolutely crazy. My fear is that one or more of my flights will get changed to something that doesn't work with my plans, and I'll have to pay the current huge markup to get something that actually works. We'll see🤞🏻.

According to touring plans, last year it was closed Aug 16- Sept 2.
Can confirm. We had a trip arriving 8/16, and canceled because the HM would be closed the whole time. For the record in the past it's been the 3rd Thursday in August - 2021 was the first time they moved it up to the 3rd Monday.
