Can we get an AP for our soon to be 3 YO?

Not us but DD and DSIL are AP holders and little boy is turning 3 this fall.

Wonder if they grandfather them in or not.

And do you need a birth certificate or what?

Wonder what others have done or been hearing. TIA.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine if you are renewing your passes for the rest of your family that you will be able to add your 3 year old. It only makes sense. But then again, common sense isn't always plentiful.

I am an Orlando local and my daughter just turned 3. I had to buy her the pixie pass even though the rest of us have higher tiered passes. I asked customer service and was told that we’d have to buy her that one or none until the others are brought back because it’s the only one currently being sold. I didn’t want to risk her being shut out from getting one altogether if they decide to do away with all new passes so we just bought it. I was told we could only upgrade if the others become available down the road.

All that to be said I was told that was the option and that’s that. I realize we’re fortunate to be locals and I so feel for everyone who isn’t because it sucks that the pixie pass is the only one available. But they don’t care that it’s for a 3 year old. A new AP is a new AP in Disney’s eyes.

Her pass says it’s for ages 3-9 but it’s the same price regardless. I didn’t have to show a birth certificate, I was just asked for her birthday and we attached the pass to her profile (that I created/control) in MDE.

We did it last year with gold passes when they hadn’t restarted selling passes post COVID shutdown. No birth certificate needed. If you get a no, try again with another CM.

Huge magical mess !

I would be marching to Guest Services next trip because the Pixie Pass has so many blackouts.
I think that castperson made a mistake because lots of families have reported Disney allows AP purchase at age of 3 if family has remained automatic renewal AP holders .
Maybe policy has changed but seems not correct.
Good luck if this is important to your trip planning as a local.

I would try checking with another CM if you can upgrade her pass, since unless the rules changed recently, they were allowing children who aged in to purchase any of the passes.

I’ll have to ask again. I was at the ticket center at Disney Springs today picking up her AP card and the cast member there didn’t seem to know that was ever a thing. She reiterated what the other customer service CM told me. I’ll keep asking around but it doesn’t seem promising.

Our daughter turns 3 in October, they sold us a Sorcerer Pass for her last month. The other 3 of us also have a Sorcerers Pass. I called the Passholder number to get hers.

My youngest turned 3 during the first AP sales halt and we are out of state. When I called to renew our passes, we were able to purchase one for him since he was aging into a "ticket"purchase. The CM sent us placeholder cards and easily activated the cards when we went a few months later. We still had to stop at guest services to obtain physical AP cards.

Thanks all. Crossing fingers.
We might all enter the park and leave the 3 YO crying at guest services. Kidding obv.

Try the guest relations at the International Gateway. I don’t know if it’s just been coincidence, but I’ve always had good luck with the CMs there
