Seeing as how Disney still serves Uncrustables at their restaurants, those with life-threatening peanut allergies might want to consider vacationing elsewhere?kids with peanutty hands will be touching everything from bus seats to railings to lap bars to paper towel dispensers. What can you do?
You can't control the folks around you.

Disney_Princess83 said:No you can't and it's a nightmare I can assure you!To say simply "vacation" elsewhere is ridiculous simply because it's a problem 24/7 and if you don't have to deal with the problem, think of yourself as very lucky indeed. Personally I have to wipe down everything as much as possible, use paper towels or tissues to avoid touching railings, lap bars, door handles and more. I've had more breakouts of hives than I care to think about. Not just at WDW but everywhere. Thankfully my allergy is only life threatening if I ingest peanuts.
Wanted to send a virtual (((hug))) to you. I do not have a peanut allergy and used to think it was ridiculous to ask folks not to eat peanuts on planes and such. I've had a change of heart due to my gluten allergy though. I am thankful that mine is not life threatening, and I do try to be more empathetic to folks with allergies now as I know how much of a pain it is for me to deal with mine.
OK...so here's the plan. Give everyone a granola bar and capri sun. Have them start eating...if someone tells you that your kids can't eat on the bus instruct them (pre coached of course) to shove their food in their mouths as fast as they can and then pretend they weren't eating. Problem solved.![]()
if you are so allergic to a common item like peanuts that you cannot be near people who might have that item on their breath without having a severe physical reaction, then that means there are a lot of places you have to stay out of. Glad to hear you have handled it, since there is no way to ensure that someone doesn't board a bus and stand next to you right after ingesting peanuts.
There are so many places I have to avoid due to my allergies. At WDW, the Chefs advised me to avoid Ohana for dinner due to the peanut sauce. It's difficult (impossible really) to avoid everywhere where I could come into contact with peanuts. Sometimes it just happens randomly. Aside from knowing I must have come into contact with peanuts "somewhere" it's often impossible to know exactly.
We need to cure all allergies! I don't have any friends or close family with any but it really can cause issues pin the world for people who do. We seem to be as a species developing more and more allergies as well getting to the point where we can even restrict an item from certain areas (aka peanuts)
... or worse. We were told no eating or drinking (closed containers are fine) due to spills and crumbs that attract ants.
I've never found the need to either eat or drink on the Disney buses.
