We would be staying on disney property and taking ME. If our plane gets in late, can we stay at the Marriott at the airport and then take ME the next morning? thanks for any info

Short answer- Yes! Some folks recommend giving ME flight information for a flight arriving around the time you want to leave MCO to head over to WDW (instead of your actual flight the night before).

As far as DME is concerned, yes. It might screw up your resort reservation, though.

No problems with your resort reservation.

You make your Magical Express reservation for your check in day in advance as is done normally.

It will go more smoothly if you have in mind a flight number, any flight, any airline, arriving at about the time you will be back at the airport, at the DME welcoming area. The CM on the phone reserving DME may or may not ask for that.

What about our luggage. I would want it to go to the disney resort and I would just bring an overnight bag for our first night at the Marriott. I don't want to have to lug 5 huge suitcases, that to me is the #1 advantage of ME. Thanks for all the help.

Are you talking about staying at the Hyatt in the airport or at the Marriott near the airport?

Hyatt bell services will take your luggage over to the DME luggage area for you.

Arrive after 10p and don't pick up your luggage. Your luggage will probably go to the unclaimed luggage office. DME should pick up your bag the next morning. Your bag goes around the carousel a few times. A thief might grab the bag before an airline employee takes it. Baggage claim checks are never compared to the tag on checked bags.

If, for instance, your resort stay begins on Monday, and your flight is on Monday, but you arrive into MCO at, say, 11:pm, you are going to have an issue with your resort reservation if you stay overnight at the airport that night. Disney is going to expect you to check in on your arrival day. If you don't show up, they may possibly assume you aren't coming and just cancel your reservation.
Those that arrive the day before their resort reservation starts, but are arriving late, often stay at the airport that night, and then take DME from MCO to their WDW resort the first thing in the morning. That's a whole different scenario.

We will probably just book POR for the night we arrive. We are arriving around 8pm, just thought I would use marriot points to save some $$$. I didn't even realize Marriott wasn't in the airport. Thanks everyone.
