I'm trying to get my wife to let me and my boy go to Universal and Islands while we're at Disney World. If I get that 1 day 2 park pass do you think we can do both parks in one day? I want to get there early and then leave around closing.

If that's what it takes to get them there, then okay. But in my opinion, this is not the best way to truly enjoy the parks.

I think what you'll wind up getting is an experience that will whet your appeitte for another, longer visit.

Try to do your musts-sees in the first park and then head to the other. (If you try to do everything at the first park, you might wind up short of time for the second.)

Then, if you find you have time left, go back and do your second-tier attractions.

Mark- If you only have one day for Universal parks, I would suggest IOA first. It is more of a thrill ride park. After that, visit the Studio park. They are both great, but just from what I have been reading, I think you and your son will enjoy IOA much more than the movie side. (I know I do!) Also, plan on doing those parks on a weekday--possibly Mon-Wed. They seem to be less crowded.

Mark, you just need to extend your trip - Cadence has already seen Portofino and likes it. Then you could all go and enjoy FOTL! :cool1:

I have done both parks in one day - took 12 hours & we were not interested any inversion roller coasters. If you are looking for this type of ride then IOA is better then the Studio side, but be warned it seems like half the rides there got you wet.
We were exhausted and my two teens were not happy for the last hour or two and did not want to get up and go anywhere the next day. It would be a lot for a younger child.
This year, with a multi park pass, we purchased an Universal Express Pass Plus. It costs an extra $30 or $35 per park but gives you Express Pass for every ride that has EP in that park. I am hoping this will help get us past the longer lines. If you can afford it this might be an option. You have to know which day you would be at the park to reserve it and it can be picked up an hour after the parks open. I'm not sure if you can just walk up on the day you're there and get one.
Good luck and remember to slow down and have fun.

I'd seriously consider shortening your WDW portion of the trip by a day or so and staying at an on-site hotel for FOTL access.

With the different room discounts available (AAA, FAN, Entertainment, APH, etc) we were able to get a room at the HRH at half-price in February.

The ability to basically walk onto a ride with little or no wait can only truly be appreciated after standing in line for an attraction at WDW for over an hour.

We managed to spend three days at Universal and would've loved to stay longer.

Good luck, enjoy yourselves.

I wasn't on planning hitting everything in the parks but just a few things out of each. Anyway, the wife said no. Maybe next year she'll fit it in for us. Thank you all for your replies.
