Can we do both Fantasmic and Star Wars fireworks?

The day that we plan to go to HS, there is one showing of Fantasmic at 9:00 and then the Star Wars fireworks at 9:30. Will we be able to do both or do we need to choose? How long is Fantasmic? I've heard exiting is a slow process. Would there be any chance of getting a decent view for the fireworks show at that point?

Unfortunately, you must choose (if you want to be able to see anything. The exit process is slow unless you cut and run before the show ends and even then you will likely be literally RUNNING through the park to get to the fireworks spot with little hope for a decent view)....to quoth the Highlander, "there can be only one."

we did both in April, we sat in the back of the theatre for Fantasmic and when the finale procession started to come through on the water we headed out and made it to the fireworks with a few minutes to spare.

You will want to get to the fireworks a little early I think to be able to see the projections on the theatre. They add a lot to the presentation, and if you are too far down the street, you won't be able to see them. I would choose the fireworks over Fantasmic.

The new SW fireworks is now running on a different schedule. Fireworks begin at the moment that Fantasmic ends.

Guests are now having to plan a couple of nights in DHS, or, they have to leave Fant before the finale. Sad - the finale is my favorite! :)

I guess we will be choosing the fireworks, we have seen Fantasmic twice. If I have to choose. I know I won't be in HS for 2 days to see both.

Even worse, in late August they currently list Fantasmic at 8:30 and SW Fireworks at 8:45. Not only can you not do both, the fireworks will now distract from the Fantasmic show. Nice planning.

Until the first night, there's no way of knowing that it will, in fact, distract from F!. I'm not saying it can't happen, I'm saying we don't know until the first night of both shows running at the same time

you might bealbe to hurry out of F and get s half way decent spot to see the fireworks you might miss the bringing you might not be able to see it all. but I would try and if you find you can not see any thing then well you can leave, but I would not get my hopes up.

The problem I see with people wanting to do both on the same night is that you will not fully enjoy either show.
You'll be at Fantasmic! on edge, waiting to get up and get out fast, without enjoying the whole show as it's meant to be (I agree with @hiroMYhero the boat and fireworks at the end are amazing) you will bother other people by getting up and leaving before the show ends, and then you won't get a good enough spot for A Galactic Spectacular so you won't be able to appreciate it fully.
I know it's sucks but I would pick between the 2

So Disney will be experimenting to see if they ruin the show or not? Great.

The noise alone would be a distraction...for me.
I think I'll go to Fantasmic! that first night of the time check and check it out. I'm sure that there will be the noise from the fireworks but I'm not sure how badly it will affect F!. I feel that Illuminations is closer to F! than the new launch location for the DHS fireworks and I haven't heard anyone saying that the noise from Illuminations affects F!.
But like I said, I will judge that in person and not assume that it will

I just don't like being overly dramatic out it. Like I said in the previous post. Illuminations and F! run at the same time, and I haven't heard anyone saying that it distracts from the show. And you can definitely hear the booms from Illuminations because I've been at DHS, waiting for SWaGS when Illuminations is going off, you can actually see the glow from the fireworks as well.

Asking for a friend....... They are wondering if it is possible to do fantasmic at 9:00 and still get a good spot for the Star Wars fireworkS? Any tips for them?

Thanks
James

Nope, Disney has purposefully made this impossible.

Merging to a current Fantasmic/Fireworks thread.

That's my favorite part too. I took my then 12 year old niece about 10 years ago, we sat on the end of the row so she would have a good view. The moment the boat came around the corner, people started getting up and walking in front of us to beat the crowds out. I thought it was really rude.

Please, please, PLEASE - if you do try to do both, please be respectful. We staked out our spot for the fireworks about 30 minutes before the show. Sure enough, right as they were about to start, there was a flood of people rushing over from F trying to squeeze into every perceived space. We ended up with the dreaded tall dad with kid on shoulder who squeezed right in front of us at the last second. So annoying. I really wish WDW would rope of the existing fireworks crowd just before the F release to prevent that nonsense.
