Can we discuss ice cream makers?

I think I remember a thread about this last year during the holidays, but I'm having trouble finding it on a search. I also looked for the thread about the cake pops, but can't find that either.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the Cuisinart ice cream maker---or even the cake pop maker?

I was given the Cuisinart ice cream maker as a gift and am surprised at how much we use it. It is very simple to use.

What kinds of things do you have to keep on hand for making ice cream? Half and half? Pet milk or regular milk?

We happen to like a Ben & Jerry's "cherry garcia" "clone" recipe that we found on the internet.

We have an ice cream maker attachment for our Kitchen Aid mixer.

We do not keep stuff on hand to make ice cream. We use a heavy cream to make ice cream. If the recipes we use call for eggs - we use egg beaters - not real eggs.

It is more expensive, but I love, love, love my machine with the built in compressor from Williams Sonoma. Can make ice cream at any time without pre freezing anything. I use it almost daily.put the ingredients in, turn it on and have great ice cream in half an hour!

The Cuisinart is great. I've had mine for several years. I use a variety of recipes that came with the ice cream maker and recipes out of a Williams-Sonoma frozen foods cookbook. Very versatile and makes great ice cream and sorbets!

I have 2 Cuisinart ice cream makers and use them both often. I make all kinds of different kinds of ice cream (Hot Cocoa ice cream and Nutella ice cream are 2 recent).
