Can UT tickets be modified on MDE? example: adding or changing a day?

If i buy UT & link them, with the new date based system-
Does MDE allow for changes (online because we all know it's useless if you do not have your ticket at your 60 day mark) on tickets not bought directly from disney?

Historically, tickets from authorized ticket discounters must be upgraded in-person at WDW.

I was actually able to add a day and a parkhopper online to tickets I bought from an authorized ticket discounter. I did NOT get the bridge price, of course, but I was able to do it. It did give me a warning that these tickets could no longer be serviced by that discount ticket provider, so if there was any problem with them, I had to go directly to Disney.

I just linked tickets bought from UT about 15 minutes ago and was surprised to see an option for "change ticket" when they were linked. (Of course when I clicked it to see what it would let me modify MDE crashed . . .). Curious to see what changes they allow online.

Depending on, well, EVERYTHING, if you MIGHT want to add a day to your trip, it could be less expensive to
buy a discounted ticket with the "extra day" already part of it.

Example:
For a 6-day park trip (with the possibility of it being 7-day park trip) it may be cheaper to
go ahead and buy the "extra day" and just not use it (if you did not extend your trip) than
to try to ADD that 7th day after-the-fact.
Do the math.

If you get a chance to try it again, please post back.

So right now when I click it (and I tried on a couple browsers since Firefox was giving me errors just displaying my current tickets) I get "Due to a system error, we were unable to update your ticket." So seems like to two possibilities are:
(1) This is an actual error with the system or
(2) The error is because it's a reseller ticket

Will try again at some point and report back if I can see what options it gives.

Hi there,

I can confirm that you are allowed to change the date of a ticket through MDE for authorized resellers. We are of course an authorized reseller with direct contracts.

Thank you

Completely agree with you ROBO....it would have been cheaper if I had projected the need for an additional day, as well as park hopper! Wish I had done it when I first purchased. This trip didn't allow for any foresight! I could have also changed dates when I upgraded my ticket. If I remember correctly, it took a couple of times trying, as website would give me the stitch screen at least the first time.

Update - the change option does work with the app. I have an unactivated 8-day hopper. The app gives me options to (1) change dates; (2) add days, and (3) add the plus option. It does not online give me an option to upgrade to an AP.

Funny thing is despite my ticket already being an 8-day ticket, it gives me the option to "upgrade" to an 8-day ticket for $47 dollars.

Are you able to update expired tickets on the phone or MDE?

My expired tickets completely disappeared from MDE. When I called Disney to ask about them, I was told I needed to update them at WDW. I, thankfully, had the original ticket order and number. I would suggest, if you know a ticket is expiring, to either update prior to the expiration or print out/write down the original ticket number.

Hello! I purchased a 3 day base ticket and linked it to my MDE account. I’ve been able to change it in the past but now it only shows the “reassign” and “link to device” options. A two day ticket I purchased through Disney DOES show the “change ticket” option. Any idea why one and not the other? TIA

I'd say between 2019 (the date of this thread) and now, things have changed.
Practically nothing that was happening in 2019 still happens the same way

I have UT tickets and can go to the change process but it won't finalize. I'm just going to do it there.
