Can transferred points be banked?

If I transfer current year points from 1 master contract to another, we own both, can I bank the transferred-in points if I don't use them all up? I know points retain their original resort and UY after the transfer. My guide said transferred points (current UY) cannot be banked once they leave the original master contract. After the transfer-out, points are good only in the current UY, use them in that UY or lose them. Is that correct?

No, your guide in incorrect.

It's always been that they can be banked. Here's the 4 different situations regarding banked/borrowed/transferred points.


Transferred points may be banked.

Transferred points may NOT be borrowed.

Banked points may NOT be transferred.

Borrowed point may NOT be transferred.

I presume the only reason you want to transfer your own points from one membership number to another is so you can combine the points for a single reservation. (11-months if same resort, 7-months if they're different resorts). Correct?

If the points being transferred in have passed all their banking deadlines, then they could not be banked. Like in the last three months of the use year.

Try to do it without transferring if you can. Make separate reservations for the days you need from each account then link them together. all you'd even had to transfer wold be if you need to combine points for a single night. The exception would be for transfers like CC, DC and the like.
