This might sound like a silly or dumb question, but I saw the Capri Sun drinks and was wondering if they could be sent over to our soldiers. They are not juiceboxes but the juice comes in the foil packages with straws. The juice packs are in a thick box. Do you think it would be okay to send? I figured it would be a little different and they are not carbonated so I don't think they'll be a problem transporting them on a plane.

That is one of the things that the collection group from my sons MS asked for us to send in. So I would think it is okay.

Just remember that they are quite heavy though and may cost $$$$$$ to ship. I've sent little packets of ice tea and lemonade mix with my shipments.

You could send them, but they really do prefer powdered drink mixes such as Crystal Light and Lipton Ice Tea. For the amount of Capri Suns you could send weight wise they would be able to make gallons more to drink with the powders.

It would be very expensive to mail Capri Sun. The postage would be much more than the cost of the drinks themselves. It can be done, though. If you decide to send these drinks you should put each serving in a ziploc bag or put the entire box in a ziploc bag, just in case one of the drink pouches ruptures during the journey.

The powdered drink mixes are not only less expensive to mail but they will provide lemonade or whatever for many more soldiers at one time. You might want to consider sending Crystal Light or CountryTyme lemonade powder instead.

word of caution on sending the capri drinks and any of the other liquid concentrated drinks , shelf life on them are for an average temp of 40-70ºF. It's certainly alot hotter there than that....so they may not do well....the powdered mix would be better

Thanks everyone! I think I'll go with the powdered drink mixes.

I'm sending those Lipton quick brew tea bags for instant brewed iced tea by the glass.

I sent some pre-made canned coffees. I wrapped each in paper towels, and then placed each in a zip-lock bag. Yes they added to my package weight, but I consider them a worthwhile treat.

The MREs, slim-jims, canned tuna, etc. that these guys eat are all subjected to above normal temps.

DH loved the Kool-aid packages with sugar in them when he was there 12 yrs ago. I sent a lot of those as did others.:D We just sent a friend a Countrytime lemonade canister in his box.
