Can someone tell me about SSR?

We just got the free upgrade from ASMU to SSR!

Is there a blender?

Will they hold groceries from Gardengrocer for me?

Do you take paperplates, napkins, papertowels, Kit towels, dish soap, dishwasher det.?

Is the fridge a full size one?

How the buses?

We wanted to do a pool day on our last day. Do they have showers by the pool?

Did you get a studio or one bedroom. Studios come stocked with paper products for the kitchenette. Small frig, sink and microwave. No blender in Studio.

The one bedrooms have Fiesta dinnerware. There are no napkins, one roll of paper towels and possibly a spare under the sink. Kitchen towels are provided. Soap for dishes and dishwasher is provided.

yes they will hold groceries.

Frigerators are full size in the one bedrooms, not the studios.

Buses are like all Disney buses.

Showers are located at the pools.

I got the upgrade, and the CM assured me I wasn't losing free dining.

I just called Disney. I didn't get an email, but I am arriving on 8/26 as are many of the others who got the upgrade. I asked the very helpful CM to check and make sure my email address was correct on my reservation. He looked and said that I did have the code attached. He was able to upgrade me to a studio at SSR. I can't believe it....I am so excited!!!!!!

Same here, I was at work today looking at the boards (shhh!) and noticed the free upgrade, so I called and asked if there was a code attached to my name and there was So we're going from AS Sports to a 1br at SSR

I have to ask if walking the resort is a problem what do you do at the parks.

Well for my brother we will be renting a wheelchair in the parks.

We didn't lose our free dining, I asked (twice) and it also still shows free dining on our online confirmation.

I got the upgrade from POP to a studio. The CM checked both places and said all the 1 bedroom were taken. I still am so excited to have the opportunity to stay here I never would afford this other wise. Anyone with info on this resort please share. I had looked into POP and now I have something new to occupy my time till we leave.

Please share your SSR info. Can we ask for a certain building that might be in a better location...closer to check-in and the food area. I know nothing about SSR.

I also called after reading about all the free upgrades. First CM I spoke to said that I could not get it. I called back tonight and I was upgraded to a Studio at SSR. We are saving the money to buy into SSR DVC (I don't do debt) so I am very excited to try it before we buy it.

Is there any laundry detergent? Can we get it refilled daily or every other day if we ask?

If we ask for more paper towels can we get them?

Can we get paper bowls and plates like the studio if we request them?

I am really enjoying all of the great info on the resort. I was gathering all of my information on Pop which is much easier to find than SSR. So I really have my work cut out for me over the next couple of months.

Now I know alot of us were planning a Dis meet while at Pop, so I think we should move the meet over to SSR.

So we can all celebrate our Magical upgrades (thanks to the year of a million dreams).

Any suggestions?

I was just curious as to how much this upgrade would have cost us if we had booked this in the first place. Well, to make a long story short I was actually able to save a whopping $3764!!!! ,and that doesn't even include the Free Dining. I can't wait to tally everything up after the trip to see how much we actually saved.
This is unbelievable. I had to tell someone my husband is now sleeping.

When I recieved that email yesterday I knew I was luck, but now I know that was definately sprinkled down on me. So this here is my happy dance.

I did that too! I figured out the value of our upgrade, for 3 rooms for 10 days, is over $8300.00!! Absolutely amazing... and then with the savings of free dining, it'll make it a once-in-a-lifetime kind of trip.

We have had blenders in DVC units. If yours doesn't have one when you check in you can request one.

A lot of the paper/cleaning/laundry supplies can be purchased in the general store or requested from the resort at a nominal price. You will want to bring your own detergent to save $$. Oh ... and the laundry is free at all DVC resorts.

Go onto the DVC mousellaneous forum, and read the SSR lovers etc...........thread. If you still have questions afterwards, just post a new thread asking for info on SSR. You will be inundated with replies!

I did the same thing. We only planned to go for a week. If I'd of know the savings that we would get, I would of made it longer! DH said to make it a week and simple! lol

i didnt even know that they were upgrading to 1br, i thought all were to studios

We were upgraded yesterday from ASMo to either OKW or SSR. We have a grand gathering (12 of us). We had 3 rooms at ASMo. My niece got the email for free upgrade, but we didn't (2 different ressies). Since I'm the Grand Gathering Planner (yes, I even have a title now ), I called Disney and asked if we all were going to be upgraded. I had a great CM. He said we all could be upgraded. He said we would be getting 3 studios. Nothing changed (still free dining), except that we got upgraded for free. (actually our total price dropped by $12-go figure). I asked about one bedroom villas, and he said we would have to pay for it. I'm not greedy, so I took it (for OKW). Later in the day, I got on the Dis boards and found out that alot of people were offered one bedroom villas. So, I called back and asked. The CM told me that "yes, they were offering them, but they were already booked". Still, I am not complaining, because, hey it's free. Later today, I checked on the Dis boards, and it seemed that more people were still getting one bedrooms. So, again I called and the CM said that they were booked, but....they could upgrade us to one bedroom villas at SSR. So....guess what, we took it. Now we have 3 one bedroom villas at SSR. This just keeps getting better and better. YEAH!!! So, if you were only offered studios, try for SSR, they had some available around 8:00 p.m EST tonite (6-9-07). GOOD LUCK, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I found that sometimes, the squeeky wheel gets the grease.
