Can someone please explain to me why Peter Pan at Dl is so popular?

I must confess that I have not ever ridden PP. Not sure why, I just never have.
I was wondering about it's long lines and popularity, which is the reason for my question. It does sound like a really fun and enjoyable ride attraction. It is not that I dislike the ride attraction,I just am not familiar with it.
I really do spend much of my time in New Orleans Square and Adventure land. Sometimes I have to remind myself, hey there is the rest of the park. I also really like Matterhorn, and the petting zoo.
My next trip....God willing... I will have to go on my first Peter Pan adventure. I very much like the story, just never been on the ride, and really did not know what that particular ride attraction entailed. Thank you everyone for your replies, and again I will most definitely make a point of visiting PP, now that I know more about it from before.

"Popular" is relative. PP has one of the longest lines based on demand and ride capacity. Its ride capacity is pretty low compared to other rides like BTMRR, POTC, HM, Matterhorn. So lines get longer more easily. It is the most popular dark ride because it frankly is better than the other FL rides. A little higher demand with a lot lower capacity means longer lines...not necessarily higher popularity. :)

Those are very good points. Thank you ... :)

I really like PP for the reasons listed above, but I was wondering this same question last week.
We stood in a 30 minute plus line because I have a 4 year old.
My DH and I were asking each other why would anyone stand in that long of a line with no kids??
Most of the people were young 20 somethings with no children.:confused3

Since you have never rode it, stand in the line and enjoy.:)

It is because you have the sensation of flying. I heard about this ride from a cousin when I was little, and couldn't understand how the "flying" worked. It sounded fascinating, the way she explained it.

Ah... how I do love the idea of flying, and not needing a passport or having to check in baggage. :) he he

For me, I love the nostalgia of Peter Pan. I love the flying over the city and seeing the little car lights, as lots of posters have already said. It's one ride that we always ride. I have no problems waiting for 45 minutes to ride...but don't like to wait much longer than that.
