Can someone help me understand the packages (AAA)?

Hi guys!

I am trying to understand about the packages you can buy through AAA. I know you can get a room only discount of 15% for my travel time (May 5 at a moderate), but if I want the dining plan, how does that work?

Do I *have* to buy the MYW tickets through AAA too, or can I buy them with the Mousesavers link separately? If I *do* have to buy tickets through AAA to get the dining plan, is just the same price as Disney?

If I book my room and dining plan together through AAA, do I still get the 15% off of the room?

I also wondered something about the dining plan - do I have to buy it for every single day I am there? I am wondering specifically about the 1st and last day of the trip, where we would probably only need 1 meal. If I had it my way we would order pizza that first night and just do our own breakfast on the day we leave, but if I have to pay that $35 a person for even those days, that would change things. I guess my question is am I able to buy the dining plan for 6 days even though technically my trip is 8? Make sense?

TIA!

If you book through AAA (package) you can get the discount off the room portion... this saved us about $200.... A package is room, tickets and dining... so yes, you have to buy the tickets as part of the package... Although you could bow out of the dining plan portion....that is optional....

You HAVE to have the dining plan for everyone in your party and it's paid per night.... we are there for 7 nights so we each have 7 TS and 7 CS and 7 Snacks..... Nothing for the day of checkout.... although we CAN use anything that is leftover the day of checkout...

In order to only pay for 6 days dining when you will be there for 8... I think you would have to check out and have 2 reservations... meaning separate tickets (this is where it gets pricey)...

I hope this isn't too confusing... and anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I understand the new "system"....

To be considered a package you have to include tkts. This can be a 1 day tkt per person. So you could get 1 day tkt for everybody the order whatever else you need from mousesavers which should save you some $$.

You could always save the first and last days TS meal credits and use them toward a dinner show or a signature restaurant.

The short version :
- to add dining, you must buy the pkg (tickets + hotel)
- the pkg means at least ONE day of tickets for everyone in the room
- if you buy the pkg, you must go through AAA to get the 15% discount on the room only
- the dining must be for all nights of your stay; so in your case you will pay 7 days of meals (not 8); you could use one set of dinner tickets on the night of arrival and one set of lunch tickets on the day of departure (or use it for breakfast if you're leaving early); I think this is still a steal :bounce:

Sorry, it was supposed to be a short version... :confused3

You COULD make a separate reservation for one night with CRO with the AAA rate. Then you can book the package for the rest of your stay (the dining plan is based on the number of nights you are staying, not days). However, if you want to go to the parks on your first day, you would have to pay the high rate for a one day ticket. You would probably make out better just booking the package for the whole time and doing the Hoop De Doo, Luau, or one of the signature restaurants, which take two TS credits, then using the extra CS credits for breakfast on your last day.
