Can someone explain the patio viewing of Illuminations at Rose and Crown?

We have a 7:20 ADR for Rose and Crown. I am planning that we will eat inside (if we get lucky and get a good outside table fine, but I'm planning that we won't). I have read that inside diners can go outside and watch Illuminations. But I can't quite picture this. Do the inside diners go stand in the same place with the outside diners' tables? Or is it a different viewing area? And how does this area compare to watching Illuminations from the ground? As long as the view is pretty much the same (that is, not a lot worse) I would think that not having to camp out for a spot, plus the novelty of it, would be worth it (traveling with a teen and a tween, who would probably think it's cool to see Illuminations from an unusual spot). Does this sound right or am I overlooking something?

We do this quite often and we LOVE it! About 15 mins before Illuminations, they will allow diners to go to a viewing area on the patio. It does not block the view of other outdoor diners(I don't think so!) If you are in the middle of eating still they will stop serving until Illuminations is over. We always seem to hit at the end of the entree and then have dessert after the show! Its a great time! Enjoy!

Oh- its a great place to view from. The only place we like as much is from Mexico!

We had 7:30 ADRs this past June at Rose and Crown. It had been raining very hard just prior to our meal so there was no outdoor seating. At 8:45, our waitress offered to take us out to the patio for the show. The tables were all still covered in water so she took us to a roped off area to the left of the tables where we could stand. It was awesome:cool1: . We felt like we were right under most of the fireworks.:cheer2:

I have eaten their twice, watching Illuminations, and know they bring people to see Illuminations, but I have never seen where they go, so obviously, it doesn't interrupt diners on the patio.
