I just found out we will be there for the last day of Mardi Gras. Are the concerts a seperate ticket item from admission? Also, is the parade for everyone? what time does it start? is it a must see?

The concert, parade and entertainment are all included with admission, and yes it's a must see. What happens is around 4 or 5pm the entertainers start coming out into the streets, the Mardi Gras food booths open, the parade starts around 8pm and is by far the most entertaining parade at any Orlando park all year with the concert starting around 8:30,usually after the parade or as the parade is ending so if you want to see the concert catch the parade from close to where it starts so you can walk over to the stage area before the concert begins.I think some of the concerts are starting at 8:30pm and some 9:30pm with the parade probably starting later.

I'll post some parade pictures for you when I get home this afternoon.

Thanks for the replies! I didn't even realize it was going on. I'm glad I checked about it. It will be our first night there and I think perfect for us to do. Do you have to get seats for the parade 2 hours ahead of time like at Disney?

I would say an hour would be fine to get a good spot...maybe less. People will come up at the last minute to try and grab your spot...sound familiar? I usually watch in the area across from Mel's Diner and never have a problem seeing everything.

Oh, yeah, that sounds very familiar. I have had my share of parade butters at Disney, that is for sure. Nothing worse than getting a spot 2 hours before the parade only to have a family of 5 think they can come in at the last minute and move you out of the way. Thanks for the tip about Mel's. We will try and get a spot there.

I wonder why they don't have these festivities on Mardi Gras Day..... That's the day I'll be there :thumbsup2

As promised....

Thanks so much Metro West! That does look like great fun. it will be nice on our first night to have something like that to do to ease us into the vacation. I just wish they would reveal who is going to be doing the concert on April 23!

I saw on line where hotel guests have a preferred viewing area. has anyone used this or does anyone know where it is?
