Can someone explain pin trading?

The appeal and reason for trading comes with a pin that you cannot buy. Last February I spotted a pin on a lanyard of Jedi Mickey in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle that said live your dream or something to that effect. Anyone who knows me well knows that I love Disney and Star Wars and I wanted this pin very much.

I found out that there are two ways to get it. You either buy a travel package through a specific travel vendor or you can trade for it. Well, with an annual pass, I don't need a package, so that's out. That leaves trading as my only option. I was fortunate enough to find a pin trader with that very pin and was able to run over to Little Green Men(right outside Buzz) and find a rack pin that she told me she would like(what traders want will vary, and sometimes you don't have a pin that they would like).

Without a trade, I would have been relegated to hopefully finding the pin on ebay.

They zip. Our big ones were purchased at DL, one has Pirates, one has Jack Skellington. They were almost $50 each!! They do have slightly smaller, more generic ones for about $40 and they have smaller Tink ones for about $35. We put cork boards in between our pages, then you don't need backs, you just pop the pins in and out. :)

I trade because I like meeting new people, the CM's are so nice and most of the people I've met have been amazing. I also trade because I like the CM pins that you can't get unless you do trade. We buy grab bags of traders and use them to get new stuff from CM's.

aarrrr mates thats the one ill get oh ty hehe now i know put 50 away for it
