Can someone explain ER to me tonight??

I just got done watching ER... can someone explain what the heck happened???

Wasn't that the MOST bizarre episode ever??? Seems to me they started in the current and then worked backwards........I was so confused that I don't think I really know what went on! LOL! Maybe if I rewind my tape and watch it backwards, it will all make sense!

It was confusing, and I didn't pay close attention, so I got lost after a while.

Luka (sp?) went to a party at Susan's house and got drunk and went home with that new female med student after getting turned down by Abby. He got called in to work the next day, still very hung over. Because of that, he failed to treat a young girl with a head injury and she started to seize. He ignored symptoms in a young man who came in with what he thought was the flu but turned out to be Leukemia. When the same man stopped breathing, he tried to intubate but put the tube down his esophagus instead of his trachea. Same man died. He then left the hospital with the afore mentioned med student and drove too fast on the ice and had an accident. A man and his son were hurt and he performed "surgery" on the boy's collar bone at the scene. The med student seemed to be okay but then lost consciousness and was rushed to the ER.
Now, play all that backwards and you have tonight's episode!

Let's see if I remember:

There was a party at Susan's house, where a few people got "tipsy". Lucca started to spill his guts to Abbie after revealing that he got her the snowglobe. She basically said "don't go there" and left with Carter. The Med student then made a pass and went home with Lucca. She then brushed Lucca off at his apartment and didn't sleep with him but stayed over.

The Med student answered the call (at Lucca's) to come into work, on his day off. This prompted rumors that Lucca and the student slept together and Abbie gave the girl a warning. Lucca was still drunk and tired when he went to work, with the student in tow. Seeing Abbie kiss Carter goodbye and getting punched by the elf didn't help his mood.

In a mental fog, Lucca started to make misjudgements about patient care. The Med student was looking for guidance but wasn't getting it, taking the blame instead for some problems.

By the end of the day Lucca was mentally shot and the Med student was trying to understand what was going on. She asked for a ride home. Confronted by the student (regarding the events of the previous night), Lucca threw caution to the wind, didn't slow the car down when requested, and crashed into another car.

In his efforts to then help the victims in the other car he made his final misjudgement of the day ... the Med student was critically injured herself. She finally collapsed and was rushed to the ER. Lucca was left trying to explain what happened and why to his co-workers and himself.

I thought it was a very strange episode and I hope they don't do any more "backwards" shows. I didn't like it, would have liked it much better had they done it the "normal" way.

I knew it was going to be backwards but found it to be confusing and disjointed. To be honest I was too tired last night to even try and care so I turned it off and just went to sleep.

I wish these executives would just entertain us not make us jump thru hoops to figure out what they are trying to say. I'm tired at 10 pm not in the mood to listen to half baked ideas.

Oh, I hated the way they did everything backward! That show moves so fast that's it hard to keep track of all the patients, and then they do it backwarad? I hope they don't do that any more!!

And I don't like what they're doing with Luka; he used to be such a nice guy. Is his contract up or something and they're going to write him off?

I also knew the show was going to be run in reverse and still had trouble keeping up with the story lines.

One quick question since I missed one part at the beginning (which was really "the end", is the Intern (i can't remember her name) still alive?

I am so glad to know that I'm not the only one who didn't like the episode last night. It was totally confusing. I missed the first minute or two so it took me a while to catch on that it was going backwards. I don't think the intern died but really don't know for sure. Guess we'll have to wait for the next show.

DD and I couldn't follow it. We kept forgetting what happened o who. I did NOT like the way they did it. Far too hard to watch and not worth the effort.

I also agree that it was way to difficult to keep track of. Hopefully, they'll never try this type of format again!

And it probably won't even be on again for at least 3 weeks, maybe longer, because of the holidays. By then we'll have forgotten about this goofy "backwards" episode.

Yes, the intern was still alive, but she was still in bad shape, and they didn't give us any clue as to what was wrong with her, or what would happen. I guess we'll have to wait until January to find out.

I sure hope this was rock bottom for Luka, because they have turned his character into a real jerk, and I'd like to see them snap him back out of it!
