I may be crazy but I thought I read somewhere on here about a "baby hand off" policy about waiting in line. How does this work:confused: If the family gets in line (myself, DD, DS, DH and new baby ) and DD and DH and DS go on the ride and I wait with baby , how does DH get the baby so I can go on the next ride? Do I have to wait at the exit of the ride? Was I just dreaming that there was such a thing?? Thanks in advance.

It's called "baby swap" and it's great! :) It works a little differently for different rides but the general idea is:

- Everyone enters the queue together.
- Parent #1 rides the ride (along with any older children) while parent #2 waits with the baby.
- After Parent #1 is done riding he/she takes the baby and parent #2 rides the ride immediately (and can take the older kids again too!).

Just be sure to tell the CM when entering the ride queue that you want to do a baby swap and they will instruct you on what to do. :)

On some rides (Test Track comes to mind) they will give you a card/pass thing and instruct you to wait near the exit. When your family exits, you make the switch and then enter through the exit. At Test Track there is a roped off area and a CM will come down and take your pass and let you in through the exit. Also on some rides (I've forgotten which, maybe Space Mountain) they will give you a fastpass baby swap ticket and when the first riders exit, the second group will go in through the fastpass line. We've also been on some trips where the baby swap would work one way during the first part of the trip (going in through the exit) and then work differently (going in through the fastpass line) later on in the week, so always ask the CM at the entrance of the attraction and they will instruct you on what to do.

And remember, your DS can ride again with the second parent!

Tahnk you very much for the information. I thought ai had heard something about it here on the boards but then I thought..."No, that jsut seems to good to be true". Leave it to Disney to make things even easier!!!!! YEAH!!!

I am so glad that WDW has the baby swap. This will be our first trip where we will need it and it will be nice for DH and I to get to experience some of our favorites (RNR, Splash Mtn.,etc) without having to wait in line twice. :)

We took advantage of this when we were there early this month. It was great!

I usually rode first with my two older boys and just told the CM that we needed a Parent Swap for my DH. They gave us a card and I took it through the line with me. It entitled my dh to ride (he went back in through the FP lane) and 2 others.

I'm sorry if I am diverging from the original post, but here's something I was always wondering: Up to what age (kids) can you do this? For example, my kids will be 5 and 7, but are still too young (scared) for some of the rides DH and I would like to go on. Would they let us do this as well? Or would the parent waiting have to start at the end of the line when the first parent comes out?

I believe it is more for kids that are under the height requirements. I had asked for one for the HM since my younger two wouldn't like that. They don't do the Parent Swap there though the CM said because there is no height requirement.

That said, my dh and the other kids were never with me when I asked for one. I never thought they had to be and the CM's never asked.
