I tried calling CRO but I've been on hold forever.

Can I book 2 rooms 1 room as a package & the other room only with my AP discount & still get the reservations linked so there guaranteed connecting?

I always thought you couldn't but someone else posted on the boards that it can be done. TIA

Last year I booked a room at Pop and my friend had a room booked at Pop. I called CRO and asked to have connecting rooms with her. (she didn't even know I made the request) and we got connecting rooms! I had booked preferred location & she did not, they even got upgraded to the preferred location which was right next to the food court & pool.
It's only a request, but I think they will try to accomadate you. I found out that they can link reservations together even if booked separately.

I don't know why but I thought room-only reservations and package reservations were done by 2 different call centers and that was why they couldn't be linked.

When you call 407-W-DISNEY (934-7639) the same Agent that answers the phone is able to book packages (Walt Disney Travel Company) and Room Only (Central Reservations Office.) You are correct that they used to be split but the calls now go to the same place. There are still different rules accompanying room only vs. packages and you cannot transfer money between the two unless you paid with a personal check or money order. Hope this helps! :cool1:

Your friend had a different reservation number and they connected both rooms on your say so only? What if the friend did not want this? Did you have her reservation number for some reason?
I'm glad it worked out so well for you but I didn't think anyone could tamper with a person's reservation. :confused3
