I'm at work and I was just reading an army base in Kandahar Afghanistan was attacked. My son is stationed there and so now I am very unnerved. I don't know the area at all but from reading the article on MSNBC it sounds like his base. Are there other bases in that area? One soldier was killed and another wounded.
I don't know what to do.

Can someone please please help me!!

Cathy - I have a map of Afghanistan on the back of my office door, courtesy of my boss when my brother was stationed there.

The news articles say the attack was in the Helman Province's Sangin (the map reads Sangan) District, which looks to me like it is quite a ways north of Kandahar.

My dad just got done talking with my son via IM (gotta love computers). While I don't know the whole details There was some rocket fire at his base but the "attack" the news referred to was not right there but nearby.

I am just a bucket of tears. I think 3 moths of worry just came pouring out of me!
