Can somebody please explain this to me?

I guess I'm not wealthy enough... because I don't buy my kid cashmere and supertrendy high end clothes.

I'm sorry. I just don't get it. Cashmere and high end clothing for babies? Don't they realize that babies are messy? And that cashmere is a real pain to clean (unless you send it out for drycleaning, which isn't cheap either)?

My poor, poor DS. He's stuck wearing garage sale finds, Target, Children's Place and Babies R Us clothing. How WILL he ever cope?!?!? :rotfl:

Easy, people are snobs and they are better parents then you or me if they spend $100 on a shirt for a baby going into debt so they can impress their friends.

I'm glad I'm not that snobby when it comes to his clothes. All I care is that they are clean and don't have too many stains. :rotfl2: DMIL has bought him some stuff that I consider 'higher' end--it's mostly higher end stuff from dept. stores and Baby Gap.

If I had bought my child a 90 dollar 'romper' when he was a baby, he sure as heck wouldn't be romping in it. I'd be following after him with a bottle of OxyClean and a clean hankie to make sure he didn't get anything on it. :rotfl2:

No kidding. I had a friend who always had her kids dressed to the 9's but they could never play because she didn't want them to get dirty. We went to the zoo one day and her girls were wearing party dresses, organza, frilly dresses. I about died. Of course she wouldn't let them play on the play equipment so they whined the WHOLE day.

:lmao: Cashmere? You've gotta be kidding me. That little bambi print dress is going to look like a Maleficent print within 5 minutes at the park.

I used to put DD in pricier clothes when she was really little. Of course that was before she discovered mud, finger paint, condiments etc. For a time I wished someone would come out with a line of disposable clothing for kids along the lines of Gladware. Somedays I could barely see the fabric of her clothes through all the stains :rotfl2: .

My DD has now become very picky about the things she wears so we end up buying a lot from LandsEnd, Gap and Gymboree - on sale of course.

I can see it now!!

New! Pampers Disposable Shirts and Pants! :rotfl:

Now all we need is disposable shoes!

:rotfl2: You guys are cracking me up. Maybe we should start a fund so we can pay for the therapy our poor kids are going to need later because we didn't dress them in expensive clothing.

Disposable shoes are easy. Target $1 spot always has flip flops. When they clearance them out they are 2 for $1. I can throw away 50 cent shoes without thinking twice.

You're right and honestly I've gotten disposable clothes from Target sale racks. At the end of a season there are tops and bottoms on there for 98 cents. Honestly, I think I'd spend more in stain remover, detergent, water and electricity washing and drying than the thing cost :rotfl: .

We get a lot of DS's clothes from Target because they usually last forever. :thumbsup2
Plus they have a lot of cute designs for their kids clothing.

I love buying disposible clothes at Target! I get the Hanes seperates that are only $6 a piece. DD loves to wear these out in the backyard in the fall. Sher totally trashes them while jumping in leaves and rolling around. If they don't look too bad I'll wash them. If they get stained up I toss them in the trash!

Cashmere? There are a lot of people out there with more money than sense.
