I am thinking about taking my DD5 down to the parks for a few days the beginning of June. There is a break btwn school ending and summer camp and since I have to be off anyway, might as well go to Disney! :lmao:

So, my question- I will be 5 months pregnant and so won't be able to ride some of the attractions. My DD has said that she is fine missing most of the bigger rides, but really wants to ride Goofys barnstormer and Space mountain. So, can she ride by herself? I would wait in the line with her, and wait by the exit. She's not afraid of any rides, so I wouldn't worry about her, and it's not like I sit next to her on SM anyway.

Any experiences?

Thanks-

I dunno...Barnstormer maybe, but I can't imagine letting my DD7 on Space (or really any ride where she is ever out of sight) by herself.:scared: I don't know if Disney requires an adult or not...:confused3

I agree, they may let her on Goofys by herself. Its a short ride.
I really dont know if they would let her ride solo on Space Mt though.
Has she been on it before?
If she hasnt, then I wouldnt trust that she would be "okay" just because shes usually not afraid or says she isnt.

It is. The minimum age to ride alone is 7.

She's been on SM many times just last Sept. and loves it. She goes on all rides and even upside down at Hershey park when she was 4. I know she'll have fun, but would like her to be able to indulge her if she can go.

I would not let my 5 y.o. ride Space Mountain alone. We would be separated too long and it just doesn't feel right to me.
That's me!

I thinkn if all went well, and you were at teh tride exit, it would probably go fine, but what if the ride got stuck and she had to be evacuated. I think one has to consider that possibility. I would not let my daughter do it alone, if it were me.

Hmmmm... I guess if you were Ok with telling the CMs that she is 7 then she probably can.

Not that I would- I don't think a 5 year old is mature enough to handle a ride like Space Mountain alone.

Last year when DS was 6 I tried to get him on the teacups at DL by himself and they wouldn't let him ride. A nice woman and her little boy said he could ride with them, so he got to ride anyway. At WDW last Jan, after he had turned 7, he was able to ride the teacups by himself. I ride everything else with him, but the teacups make me nauseated.

the policy is that children need to be at least 7 to ride alone.
I would just plan to go on things that you are able to go on.
An alternative would be to get someone else to come with you; if you don't have a friend or relative who could go, you could try one of the babysitting services, like Fairy Godmothers. Some of them have park passes and would be able to be an extra pair of hands for you in the park.
